In 1912, at the height of World War I, brilliant Shakespeare expert Elizebeth Smith went to work for an eccentric tycoon on his estate outside Chicago. The tycoon had close ties to the US government, and he soon asked Elizebeth to apply her language skills to an exciting new venture: code breaking. There she met the man who would become her husband, groundbreaking cryptologist William Friedman. Though she and Friedman are in many ways the Adam and Eve of the NSA, Elizebeth's story, incredibly, has never been told.

Loved it, but struggled to finish it. The story gets lost in the tangents and details.

Following Jane from her childhood as an orphan in Northern England through her experience as a governess at Thornfield Hall, Charlotte Brontë's Gothic classic is an early exploration of women's independence in the mid-19th century and the pervasive societal challenges women had to endure. At Thornfield, Jane meets the complex and mysterious Mr. Rochester, with whom she shares a complicated relationship that ultimately forces her to reconcile the conflicting passions of romantic love and religious piety.

Would you try another book from James Patterson and Maxine Paetro and/or Carolyn McCormick?

NO- I like James Patterson, but the new sexier version of his stories is more like reading a romance novel since he brought in the female co-authors.

If this book were a movie would you go see it?

The movie would definitely lend itself to the explicit sex scenes, which I find detract not add to the story line...so probably not.

Any additional comments?

Have Patterson drop the female co-authors and go back to doing what he does best...writing great books.
