I loved the overall premise of the book but it was hard to finish because of the convoluted narrative. It would have been a bit better if there was more action in the story!

Audie Award, Audiobook of the Year, 2016. Rachel takes the same commuter train every morning. Every day she rattles down the track, flashes past a stretch of cozy suburban homes, and stops at the signal that allows her to daily watch the same couple breakfasting on their deck. She’s even started to feel like she knows them. "Jess and Jason," she calls them. Their life—as she sees it—is perfect. Not unlike the life she recently lost. And then she sees something shocking. It’s only a minute until the train moves on, but it’s enough. Now everything’s changed. Unable to keep it to herself, Rachel offers what she knows to the police, and becomes inextricably entwined in what happens next, as well as in the lives of everyone involved. Has she done more harm than good? Compulsively readable, The Girl on the Train is an emotionally immersive, Hitchcockian thriller and an electrifying debut.

The first person narrative was very interesting to listen. The three performers for the different leads was a good choice, it let me imagine different personalities based on their voice tones.
As the story unfolded and each characters motives were told from different perspectives, i had thought that i had predicted the killer way early.. But i was in for a big twist that i didnt expect. But after finishing the book, i realized that i should have seen it coming.. There were clues, not in the book but in the overall characterizations.
Overall this is an amazing listen. This is one book that i would definitely recommend listening as it makes the story more intriguing and engaging.

Where does Flood Rising rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

this is probably the best action thriller i've read so far.

What did you like best about this story?

the fast paced story with extreme twists and a first person view narration gave an adrenaline rushed listening.

Which scene was your favorite?

there's an action scene in the everglades, where the teen protagonist handles many of her attackers with skill and poise, this sets up the intrigue of how the story is going to move.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

you have to live to learn about yourself.

Any additional comments?

i am really looking forward to reading the next books in this series. i have thought of many theories about which direction it might go, excited to see if that comes true.
