This was an amazing book. Sad but amazing. The language is beautiful, the characters complex. As a parent it made me look at the relationship I have with my own children and question the assumptions I have made about those relationships. It made me want to know more about my children and about the lives they lead. I would highly recommend this book to anyone, but especially to those with children still at home.

Okay, full disclosure: I am the author of this story, so I suppose that makes me more than a little bit biased. But of all the things I have ever written, this is definitely my favorite. My own daughter was twelve years old when I wrote the story and her own mother had suffered a heart attack only a few years before. Although my wife made a full recovery, the scare forced me to imagine what might have been like had we not been so lucky. This story was the end result.
