I picked this one out of desperation. Being a Navy retired vet who was battling depression before I joined the military, I just hoped it would be a momentary break from the pain. After listening to it, I feel like I have found a way to finally heal. This is going straight to my mental health team, and I am going to convince them to start a comedy boot camp at my clinic. Thank you, Audible. You are doing more than creating laughs with this one. You just might be saving lives. I will always be grateful.

I will admit that I did not listen to the entire book. There is a lofty, opinionated , "witchier than thou" tone to it that rubbed me the wrong way. This is the first work on the subject that has such a "this the the only correct/pure path" air to it. Form your own opinion. I enjoy studying different paths even if I don't follow them, but this is the first time I have encountered such a clear message of "this is the only TRUE way." That is what drove me away from mainstream organised religion in the first place.

Crossing Over audiobook cover art

This is not a book

A radio program is not a book. Audio books do not include audiences coughing in the background during a speech. Sorry I wasted a credit on this. Don't list it as an audio book if it was never a book to begin with.

I have read this book multiple times, and marveled at the brilliance of the film based on it. But Frank Miller's narration brought it to life for me in a way I hadn't expected. I have never listened to an audio book in its entirety before this. Utterly amazing. It is easy to see how Mr. Harris's literary prowess made these characters haunt our imaginations all these years. But the picture is incomplete until you read/listen to all three books: this one, "Hannibal," and most importantly "Hannibal Rising." Then a very complex picture falls into place. The conclusions you draw can be as varied as people's imaginations.
