Sam Richmond is a workaholic in danger of becoming the very man he despises - his father. Stressed and sick with worry, he’s desperate to shake off the shackles that bind him to his current path and embark on a life lived only for himself. His friends are determined to pull him out of his funk and decide to drag him to a strip club that caters to both men and women. Sam is shocked when he develops an attraction to the show’s male headliner: Rico McIntyre. The two men end up in a backroom for a private lap dance that ends up being a game changer for them.

There are some enjoyable aspects to this book - for details read the other reviews ; )

I feel like this author/book needs more polishing, and less cut and past plot tropes. OK, I only made it 2/3 of the way through this before deciding I just didn't care about these guys as written/narrated. A review of unfinished book is only useful for why you did not finish.
HERE ARE THE ISSUES thus far:

the book starts w/ non con/dub con "erotica"
the aggressor in above switches to we need to take it slow not be physical until its real

Double gay for you: sexuality IS complex & doesn't alway fit labels, but this is just clunky

they are strip club hookups
then suddenly they are business rivals
then suddenly they are coworkers

a high power business at end of day, after receptionist and other workers have left, is unlocked so anyone can walk in and wander to any floor/office...etc
It just needs work.

Story/overall: there are lots of 2-3 stars bits w/ some 4-5 stars bits, I don't know how it ends, so 3 stars

Both narrators are good not great. And as is often the case, the dual narration completely unnecessary & unhelpful.
(sorry Sebastian York fans - please consider the rest before you deem this unhelpful!)

Sex and chocolate are the two pleasures Michał enjoys most in life. His sex life has been nonexistent for some time, though. After a particularly bad hookup, he keeps mostly to himself. That leaves chocolate. Luckily, he works surrounded by the most delicious, extravagant produce in Gothenburg. Beside his job at the chocolaterie, his main source of excitement is his online friend, Magnus, whom he stubbornly refuses to meet in person. A customer turns up at the chocolaterie one day - tall, shy, and charming. If Michał can step out of his overly safe shell, there might be not only chocolate, but sex, too.

Axel's eyes took on a strange shine as he looked at me. "When you were a child, your mother warned you about the dangerous creatures that lived in the forest beyond the fence, didn't she?" I nodded, my arms crossed over my chest. "The fearsome creatures that she warned you of - that she protected you from - do exist." Axel's glittering eyes met mine. "They congregate in these woods for one reason only - you."

A beach vacay with my best bud since college seems like the perfect opportunity to relax, catch some rays, and enjoy a couple of nights on the town. When I find a girl who's eager to mess around with me, I figure I've got it made. Then, I meet the intense, hot-as-hell, tattooed Eric Westright, who wrecks my world...in the best possible way. He awakens something within me - something that's always been here, but that's never pulled so powerfully...not until I looked into those solemn blue eyes and felt the red-hot spark of his touch.

A lot of people are REALLY going to like this book!

That being said, I would have given it a higher rating if
1. there were WAY less repetitive whingeing about how the MCs getting together was wrong and/or would harm the son/BFF Ty
2. I wouldn't quite call this a cliffhanger, but it definitely stops part way through the story (w/ a HFN)
3. Michael Pauley is a great narrator, but for this book I found his voice mannerisms heavy handed (fyi I'm super picky from prolific listening - #Audicted)

There should be a trigger warning for this book but the issue is telegraphed by one of the MCs pretty early in the book and its not really addressed until the end. So, if its a trigger for you, you'll likely recognize whats up early on & be able to decide if you want to continue.

Got this because it’s narrated by Joel Leslie. Unfortunately it’s one of those serial stories where only one piece has made it onto audible. The ending is abrupt. It’s not really even a complete short story, which is too bad because it had potential. Can’t recommend on its own

It started with an anonymous post by someone who didn't want to live anymore. I read it over and over again, unable to get it out of my mind. What if my brother Johnny had posted something like this before he'd taken his own life? Would someone have been able to save him? I've been living a lie for 16 long years, and I'm not sure how much longer I'll be able to keep it up. And when a beautiful, broken man walks into my tattoo shop asking for a second chance at life, I know I'll never be able to turn him away.

I've REALLY been enjoying KM Neuhold's Heathens Ink series!

Both the stories and Cooper North's narration happily kept my attention - no easy feat after 1000's of books & about 30 audiobooks a month. This wasn't too surprising after previous insatiable press experiences (heidi cullinan / iggy toma anyone?).

So while re listening to the first two books, I was delighted to discover a third had been released! And then yelled out loud in disappointment when I heard the new narration. While Cooper North's narration isn't perfect its really good. The voices are enjoyable, distinct, fit the characters and are consistent through the first two books. To be fair to Kenneth Obi his character voices aren't necessarily bad. In another context I would give them a 3 or possibly 4. However, with the possible exception of Nox, the voices just don't fit. I will assume he didn't check out either the written or audio versions of the previous books before starting out to see who the characters were before taking over.

My biggest problem w/ his narration here is that the voices aren't consistent. During the course of any given conversation his accents etc slip so that it can be very confusing who is talking, which just isn't ok. It also gives you room to notice plot tropes, devices & holes. I support the author's right to choose the best publishing option for their purposes and am really disappointed that in this case we loose out on Cooper North's narration & insatiable's production.

The series is good enough that I want to find out what happens to the rest of the character's and hope future narration improves!

I Love the world Shira Anthony has created here! The characters and types of beings have SO much potential. Unfortunately, the 1st half of the story depends entirely on lack of/mis- communication. By the time things Actually start happening, there is no time left to explain all the interesting people/details/events. I feel like this is one good rewrite away from being the amazing start to a wonderful series, there is so much more story to tell! As it stands, it is a quick, fun, slightly frustrating little book.

This book comes w/ excellent illustrations & you’ll enjoy it more w/ them (pdf in your library under title). It’s very short, I expect in print form it is a board book of the sort intended for very young children. The price is tiny too. Might work best on tablet where you could see/hear together. Too bad words aren’t on pdf so kids could “read” along.
