A sexually charged and wickedly funny thriller starring Tony Award-winning actor Billy Crudup, Harry Clarke is the story of a shy Midwestern man leading an outrageous double life as the titular cocky Londoner. Moving to New York City and presenting himself as an Englishman, he charms his way into a wealthy family's life as the seductive and precocious Harry, whose increasingly risky and dangerous behavior threatens to undo more than his persona.

I returned to Audible when I learned that live theatrical performances had been added to its selection list. This play is wonderful. The chat with the writer/director/actor is a special bonus. So happy that this great production has been captured and preserved.

Six years have passed since Jake Fisher watched Natalie, the love of his life, marry another man. Six years of hiding a broken heart by throwing himself into his career as a college professor. Six years of keeping his promise to leave Natalie alone, and six years of tortured dreams of her life with her new husband, Todd. But six years haven’t come close to extinguishing his feelings, and when Jake comes across Todd’s obituary, he can’t keep himself away from the funeral. There he gets the glimpse of Todd’s wife he’s hoping for...but she is not Natalie....

What disappointed you about Six Years?

Disappointed by the drivel, the product placement and the "to be continued" conclusion. Also disappointed that my audible bookstore hypes writers' annuity fiction. Get some well told mystery fiction even if it comes from, say, Canada (Farrow aka Ferguson) or Scandinavia (Nesbo).

What do you think your next listen will be?

My heartbeat while reading for myself

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

Performance was fine but given the material perhaps a mime next ?

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

For escapist literature - no

Any additional comments?

This book is (I hope) the last of a number of mysteries I downloaded which disappointed. Why can't you explore the excellent genre novels of authors who are not mass marketed? Find some good books and get staff to read them to me if profit is the only goal here

It is Nick and Amy Dunne's fifth wedding anniversary. Presents are being wrapped and reservations are being made when Nick's clever and beautiful wife disappears from their rented McMansion on the Mississippi River. Husband-of-the-Year Nick isn't doing himself any favors with cringe-worthy daydreams. Under mounting pressure from the police and the media - as well as Amy's fiercely doting parents - the town golden boy parades an endless series of lies, deceits, and inappropriate behavior. Nick is oddly evasive, and he's definitely bitter - but is he really a killer?

Where does Gone Girl rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 10

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

Oh yes - superb plotting and brilliant writing

Have you listened to any of Julia Whelan and Kirby Heyborne ’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

After I listened to this, I purchased her other 2 - all great

If you were to make a film of this book, what would be the tag line be?

Well I'm keeping my creative ideas to myself ( fortunately for your easily bored customers)

Any additional comments?

Yes Thanks for not messing up the product with that creepy music you add to other audible books and thanks to the author for not stringing the sagas out over two or three volumes
