Surrounded by an army of Celts and facing certain destruction, the Ninth Imperial Legion, one of Rome’s most powerful military formations, has been unexpectedly transported to the world of Tannis. The legion, now under the command of Camp Prefect Karus, finds itself lost in a strange land. Cut off from everything they have known, they find temporary shelter in the abandoned city of Carthum. They quickly learn an unholy army of orcs, goblins, trolls, and humans known as the Horde is on the march, sweeping across the face of Tannis like a dark tide, conquering one land at a time.

When struggling riverboat captain Abner Marsh receives an offer of partnership from a wealthy aristocrat, he suspects something’s amiss. But when he meets the hauntingly pale, steely-eyed Joshua York, he is certain. For York doesn’t care that the icy winter of 1857 has wiped out all but one of Marsh’s dilapidated fleet. Nor does he care that he won’t earn back his investment in a decade. York has his own reasons for wanting to traverse the powerful Mississippi. And they are to be none of Marsh’s concern - no matter how bizarre, arbitrary, or capricious his actions may prove.

Where does Forging Zero rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

This book was great! It started out with excitement right from the first page and never let go. The author did not pull any punches and kept the reader invested in the characters and the trials they suffered. I could not stop listening! The only complaint I have is that the other two books in the series are not on audible. I will get the kindle version though so I can have the whole story!

Who was your favorite character and why?

Libby is my favorite! She was one tough cookie right from the start and she had plenty of smarts!

Which scene was your favorite?

The scene where Joe stops the bullying in the cafeteria!! Loved it.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

there were a bunch of those.
