Eric disappeared when he was three years old. Ben looked away for only a second at the grocery store, but that was all it took. His brother was gone. Vanished right into the sticky air of the Florida Panhandle. They say you've got only a couple days to find a missing person. Forty-eight hours to conduct searches, knock on doors, and talk to witnesses. Two days to tear the world apart if there's any chance of putting yours back together. That's your window. That window closed five years ago, leaving Ben's life in ruins.

Following a suicide attempt and consigned to a segregated insane asylum, attorney James P. D. Gardner finds himself under the care of Dr. James Boozer. Fresh out of medical school, Dr. Boozer is eager to try the new talking cure for insanity and encourages his elderly patient to reminisce about his experiences as the first black attorney to practice law in 19th-century West Virginia. Gardner's most memorable case was the one in which he helped to defend a white man on trial for the murder of his young bride.

I am a huge fan of Sharyn McCrumbs work! I especially love these kinds of stories. The only complaint is that you can't stop reading or listening to them & then you've finished & have to wait a year or two before the next one!

Imagine a blackout lasting not days but weeks or months. Tens of millions of people over several states are affected. For those without access to generators, there is no running water, no sewage, no refrigeration or light. Food and medical supplies are dwindling. Devices we rely on have gone dark. Banks no longer function, looting is widespread, and law and order are being tested as never before.

This book provides pertinent information for this day & age. It is frightening that our government is so unprepared for such an event that would knock out our power grid & seemingly unconcerned especially since a few attempts have been made.
Now with Obama bringing in Syrian refugees by the thousands who have not been vetted our security & electrical grid is very likely in peril.
Read this book & prepare yourself as best you can!
Thank you Mr Koppel for getting the information to us!
