Unless you're from Arkansas or its neighbors, it's going to be difficult to reproduce the sounds of the voices of these characters in your mind. I'm so glad I listened to this excellent recording because the narrator's accent brought the characters and their environment to life. A highly recommended classic for anyone ages 13 to 113, of any gender. Next time you're in a dilemma, ask yourself: "What Would Mattie Do?"

Narrator did a great job with a myriad of accents. Story was basically a 21st century urban fantasy Philip Marlowe, but included an info-dump by the villian at the end, Voldemort-style, which is a bit of a literary cop-out in my opinion. Cool world, decent characters, decent plot, mediocre execution.

At first I was sceptical of a male narrator for a romantic story, but most characters in the story are men, and even the women are rendered well. He plays every character distinctly and recognizably, and each accent is perfect. Well done!

You cannot begin to understand a country or its history if you do not understand its leaders. If you think you know anything about Israel, or if you want to learn, listen to this. Narration is on point and easy to follow. Find out the why behind what happened, and you will know more about the why behind what is happening now, and what will happen soon.

I am a fan of Stephen King's more modern works, and this book excells as a dark fantasy. I intend to listen to the rest of the series. The narrator was superb, however, whatever recording equipment was used was subpar, sounding like the voice was coming through a tunnel. If I can, I'll choose another publisher for book 2. The Man In Black's speech near the end of the book about Size is worth memorizing as a monologue.

Coming to know the real people behind the project made this documentary relatable. What would you do if you were 10 miles into a tunnel with diminishing air and no hope of rescue? What would you do if you were the boss of the project? Learning about how our engineers do what they do was invaluable. As a Bostonian, I can appreciate these events that unfolded right here, where I live.

Wonderfully told, unforgettable characters. Tied nicely together at the end. Five stars! I hadn't experienced Philip Marlowe before but I love that film noir vibe now.
