1000 essential words in Turkish audiobook cover art

The pairs are English first then Turkish, which is harder for learning. The audio quality is not good. It is difficult to hear the pronunciation clearly. There are better quality audio options available.

This book has music playing behind the voices. It means you cannot easily hear pronunciation. I returned immediately.

This is a rip off - Not a Preston & Child book

So I was desperate for a decent new book and stumbled upon this. In a hurry, I thought it was a Preston & Child book. It's not. Same genre, not the authors. And it's a cheap copy. There's really poor editing -- many words are misused. It's clear the author just doesn't understand the precise meaning. The quality of the story is poor. The story lacks the history and science that generally propels a Preston & Child book. The plot is also "patchy"--jumping around without explanation.

The Creative Compass audiobook cover art

Non-professional narration; jumpy writing.

Is there anything you would change about this book?

Please, please, authors, do not insist on reading your own work. There is a reason there are professionals. The two narrators are unskilled (with the female worse than the male). The narration jumps constantly between the two voices (rather than, say, switching only at chapter ends). The content is not bad, but the narration has made this book a fight to finish.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

Will I ever get there? Not yet, despite about four attempts to make it through it over the last few months.

What didn’t you like about Dan Millman and Sierra Prasada ’s performance?

Unprofessional, jarring transitions.

A Poisoned Season audiobook cover art

I want the usual reader back!

What did you love best about A Poisoned Season?

Lady Emily is fun and compelling as always.

How could the performance have been better?

I want the usual reader back! Justine Eyre is just not nearly as good as the reader for the other Lady Emily stories! Eyre has this forced, breathy quality to her voice, like someone pretending to be sexy. It is really distracting and rather nearly ruined the story for me. I love the Lady Emily stories so this was really a disappointing change.
