We were 16 the night she was violently assaulted while I helplessly watched. I’ll never forget the sounds of her suffering. Or my inconsolable agony when she left Oklahoma. Years later, she returns to honor our teenage pact. Except the boy she loved is gone, replaced by a ruthless cattle rancher knotted with secrets. She doesn’t know my dark cravings or the trails of sin that lead to her. I don’t deserve her, but one truth remains: She’s mine.

This was very well written and further enhanced by excellent narration. When I first started listening, I wasn’t sure it was for me. The scenes it described were in detail and I though...come on already, I don’t need this much background and detail. I was wrong. What happened next could very easily cause triggers to flip in some people. There is a very difficult scene that I quite frankly had to skip and come back to later. I literally cried (cried!) through three chapters. There is an event, a breakup, parent with no compassion, a reawakening of strength, a reunion, a great enduring love, a big mystery solved on why events happened the way they did (I did Not see it coming). It’s a really good book and the narration really was right on cue. This is an excellent story written extremely well. Audible is a must have. Sex scenes are descriptive and describe feelings as well as activity. I recommend this if you are ready for an emotional rollercoaster.

This is so intriguing. It has a unique plot, unfortunately you have to read three books to get the full story. This I detest. And I can’t wait to begin book two. It’s that interesting. Narration was excellent. Really enhanced the story.

This was not for me. I just could not connect with Either narrator. It was all I could do to finish listening. The story wasn’t enough to make up for the narration. I had hoped for a new MC series, but not interested in trying another one.

This is just excellent. I am listening for the third time. Love the narrators. Read the book a while ago and I adore her MC books. The narrators do an excellent job and bring the story to life. I am not so certain I like the strong southern accent just because it’s not what I heard in my head as a read the books years ago. But it makes sense to the Texas location. I can’t wait for her to put up the third book. And then her diaries. Seriously love her MC Books. They are hard, gritty, real. Always hot. She does include m/m in some aspect. Not my thing, but it’s not over the top and I just skim the parts I don’t like to read. Don’t let this stop you from reading or listening. It’s written real, not for sleaze or titillation. It written for acceptance cause sometimes that’s the way people are and it doesn’t make them less human. The way she writes, she makes the MC lifestyle real, human, gritty and fun. You get the family and the love in whatever form it is. Love this author!

I loved every word! It has interesting characters that will charm and entertain you with every page. A handsome prince and an heiress find each other in spite of their titles. Family loyalty, love of country, and an inane sense caring will give them an HEA to be envied. Narrator is not great but the story is enhanced by the narration. Even with this narrator, I would still buy it again.

Each day I prayed for my husband to love me again. After 15 years together, he walked away from me, and into the arms of another. I didn’t know how to cope. I didn’t know my worth. I didn’t know how to exist without him by my side. All I wanted was for him to come back to me. Then, Jackson Emery appeared. He was supposed to be a distraction for my mind. A summer fling. A confidence boost to my bruised heart. We were perfect for one another, because we both knew we wouldn’t last. Jackson didn’t believe in commitment, and I no longer believed in love.

I am in awe. This is an incredible story. It has love, angst, loyal dog Tucker, tragedy, bullying, wonderful uncle and this is just part of Jackson’s story. Her story has a less than supportive Mother, a cheating husband, history of seven miscarriages, an adoring and supportive sister. This goody too shoes everybody pleaser learns from Jackson how to discover herself and those around them get some lessons too. I laughed out loud, cried blooper tears, and stayed up ALL night to finish it. It is a treasure. Get the narration too. It’s excellent. Really brings the story to life. Highly recommend. Gonna be on my to be reread list.
