This is a very cool going home again short story. I get the sneaky suspicion that there is some foreshadowing in this memoire that I found tantalising. Though I haven’t yet read the books that occur later in this world, now I want to. To me, that’s the most excellent endorsement!

What made the experience of listening to Degrees of Separation the most enjoyable?

There are some truly hilarious moments in this book.

What do you think the narrator could have done better?

David Dear seems as though he may be a fairly new reader. His annunciation needs a bit of work; at times he seems to let the words get away from him, slurring them together. However, at the beginning of the chapters he over-enunciates with a precision so at-odds with his overall laid back style of speech that it seems to be an irreverent affectation. It works passably well in a comedic work like this, but I feel he'll reach a wider audience with targeted effort on smoothness and consistency.

Would you try another book from George Saoulidis and/or Kathy Vogel?

Yes.

Would you be willing to try another book from George Saoulidis? Why or why not?

Yes, there was potential in the story & it's clearly marked & marketed to be released episodically. I simply wanted more out of it.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

I like Kathy Vogel's voice. She may have been a bit over-the-top in this performance, though, because the character came off as so consistently keen on everything that when she suddenly *wasn't* interested in something, I found myself a bit jarred out of the narrative.

One Hell of a ride!

Would you listen to Sandman Slim again? Why?

This series has moments of stunning poetry shining through the brutality, sometime futility & hearbreak. It excoriates the surface grit, flays the pretender & allows the true form beneath, angel OR demon, to emerge. It's a no-holds-barred assault on "perceptions" & for that I adore it.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. Every single 1 of them!

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

This book goes down smooth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Yancy. It's impossible not to dig a guy like that.

Any additional comments?

At first I was a bit distracted that the character was supposed to be from New Orleans but the reader seemed to have a slight NY/NJ-ish thing going on. I wasn't sure I could reconcile. But as I listened & as he talked, as Yancy told his story, it began to make sense. And that is magic. Well done.

Would you listen to Bill the Vampire, Scary Dead Things, The Mourning Woods, and Holier Than Thou again? Why?

Yes & that's not something I normally do! I don't care for the "classic" vampire & Bill is anything but formulaic. His story is worth giving a 2nd or 3rd look.

Have you listened to any of Christopher John Fetherolf’s other performances before? How does this one compare?

Yes. His performance here is very strong.

What did you love best about Deep Fried and Pickled?

Every book I read about Rachel & her friends makes me feel like I'm revisiting fond memories of hair raising adventures in college. Paisley Ray evokes such warmth & nostalgia & genuine caring in her writing that even danger draws tension but not palpitations. The zaniness, circuitous routes to exploring love, soul-searching for who & what they're meant to be & be doing...I don't find it angst-laden, but humour-filled.

What about Suzanne Cerreta’s performance did you like?

She is 1 of my favourite female readers & I wish she had a larger collection of books in my preferred genres. She's exceptionally pleasant to listen to & skilled in crafting distinct voices & accents for the host of characters.

Any additional comments?

I'm so glad I stumbled onto this first book. I bought & listened to 7 in 1 weekend! I'm so glad the adventure continues.

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

I recommended the storyline to my husband & several friends. Everything written by L.C. has now been devoured by us & discussed at length. The storytelling is effortless, immersive & the characters are *genuinely so likeable* you don't want to stop reading because then you'll have to say goodbye.

Where does Just One Damned Thing After Another rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Top 50. Time travel is a sticky wicket, as they say. When done well, it's a lot of fun. When done poorly, it's just painful.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes. In fact, I grabbed the next 1 & listened to that immediately as well.

What does Luke Daniels bring to the story that you wouldn’t experience if you just read the book?

Luke Daniels gets better & better with every book he reads. His inflections, voices, pacing & recording quality are all top notch. There are few audio readers that immediately influence the likelihood that I may or may not listen to a book, but he is at the top of the list, adding his weight to tip the scales *toward* a sale.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

Everything you thought you knew about druids was a carefully blended tea of obfuscation & trickery...fed to you, grinning, by this guy.
