In a stand-alone series set in the world of Muirwood, eighteen-year-old Maia is the exiled princess of Comoros and heir to the throne. As a result of her father's ceaseless need for authority, she was left disinherited and forced to live as a servant in her enemy's home. When the king invites chaos into the land by expelling the magical order known as the Dochte Mandar, Maia finds herself on a perilous quest to save her people. To survive, she must use magic she has learned in secret - despite the fact that women are forbidden to control it.

Cold, fine drops of rain fall softly on Evie's cheeks as she emerges from the darkness of the ship's interior to the gray, overcast sky of the main deck. Pulling her dark peacoat tighter to her body, the wind lifts red tendrils of her hair. She walks slowly to the railing overlooking the water. She catches her first sight of the Irish coastline; its craggy landscape makes her shiver in dread. She finds it difficult to imagine now how the Gancanagh had made this their home for so long without anyone realizing it.

Where does Incendiary rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

Each book by Bartol is a bumpy ride so buckle up. It's a hold you by your throat world that's never short on struggles, pain, anger and hope for the allusive happily ever after

Who was your favorite character and why?

The characters are written to stand out. Hard to choose just one. I chose two, Reed and Zephyr. Both love without restriction, loyal and wickedly adorable.

Which character – as performed by Emily Woo Zeller – was your favorite?

The performance was good on all except for Russel. Or maybe I just really hate Russel. But Emily Woo Zeller is hands down the best when it comes to Reed and Zephyr

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

I wanted to strangle Evie. I wanted to hug Zephyr; cry for Reed and shout at Russel

Any additional comments?

A book should make you angry, smile, want to toss it across the room, rush home to read it and do it all over again. Bartol delivers roller-coaster of emotions you'LL want more

Where does Nice Girls Don't Have Fangs rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?

scale of 1-10 , 1 being some one help me finish this and 10 being so freaking awesome. I'd give Nice Girls Dont a "7"

Who was your favorite character and why?

No fave. I tend to not pick faves in books. And its good thing that there were a couple of likable characters that I didnt have to latch to just one. But if I had to pick, I pick granny. (the dead one)

Which scene was your favorite?

Every scene with the realtor or the granny. Read it and you will see what I mean.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

I think I almost did. It surely is engaging. The performance was perfect and the wording was humorous. I liked it.

Any additional comments?

Remember True Blood Suzie Stackhouse? Well of course you do. Molly Harper didn't rip directly from the pages; but there is some southern charm and quick witty fun splashed with sex and vampires that taste like candy. Yea, that's in there. All in a day, fired from Library, gets shot and turned into a vampire. Some will say that's pretty much where the plot ends. I dont agree. There are other subjects tackled throughout the book. and while the new vampire learns to be a vampire there are others learning to be better humans.
Despite it being well trodden territory, Nice Girls Dont Have Fangs is actually a fun, great read. Yes even the sex is mostly not terrible. I recommend giving it a try for a quick read.

Fooled by book one. It's important to have a character you get angry with. A dose of anger is nice ever so slightly. but Valeria is just so dumb. it was brain numbing to get through the book. Either she is a delusional bed hop or just a bed hop. And looking past that, there was little left to be desired. Lucas can't carry the book by himself. That being said, I really don't know if I will bother with the next book.
