The world’s sexiest firefighter is about to get a second chance with the virgin next door.... He’s bossy, arrogant, and so ridiculously hot that he should come with a warning label and a pair of flame-retardant coveralls. He’s also the boy who broke my heart when we were in high school. I want to move in next door to Ryan O’Dell the way I want to be the virgin gamer geek suddenly in charge of running my sister’s sex-toy factory. Too bad both are written in my stars.

I love these narrators! The dialog is witty. The setting and characters are unique. Such high hopes, but the plot was so, so weak that it totally tanked it for me. Super predictable with no major catch to draw me in and commit to wanting the outcome. I only finished it because of the one liners that were great, but I won’t automatically buy another from the Lili & Pippa duo. You feisty ladies are super talented and smart. Show me more of that!

What starts as a one night stand leaves both of them wanting more, but then Eric finds out Shane doesn't just outrank him, he's an officer. DADT may be repealed, but an enlisted man getting involved with an officer falls under conduct unbecoming a gentleman and could cost both men their careers. They both have kids to take care of, future civilian careers to consider, and retirements on the line. Still, they can't resist each other. As long as no one asks and they don't tell, there's no reason anyone has to find out.

This is not a gay romance. This is a romance.
Connect an incredible writer with an exceptional narrator, and you’ve got a swoon-worthy book for all.
The plot- well crafted and researched. Totally engaging plus you learn quite a bit about Japanese culture from the viewpoint of 2 servicemen. I also learned a bit about military culture.
The romance- these two guys, you just gush with smiles and butterflies from jump. Each character is carefully crafted to define his own story, and the two of them smashing into loving each other, it’s fantastic.
The sex- smokin’ hot. Seriously. You certainly don’t have to be a man and/or to be gay to appreciate the electric sexuality in this book. I think it’s the intensity, the weighted pull of attraction, that makes the romance and sex so delicious.
I’m off to search for more Witt and Boudreaux paired books. If this is a stand alone, you will shortly hear me screaming.

Sweet, sexy, no major weighty tragedies, and seriously funny! This romance seems very, very plausible. The plot is easily digestible so I could focus on the “feels” of the book. I adore feeling smily and a bit sparkly after listening to a great romance. The only criticism I have is the interview with Emma at the end. I was truly looking forward to listening to it, but Emma was apparently eating candy or drinking because her continual slurpy swallowing was too much to take. Though I thoroughly enjoyed her book, I couldn’t get through the interview.

The stories are engaging and steamy, the narration is beautiful in both the accents as well as female/male voices. I adore this series and am loyal to this fierce and fabulous partnering of such talents.

Blue Echohawk doesn't know who she is. She doesn't know her real name or when she was born. Abandoned at two and raised by a drifter, she didn't attend school until she was ten years old. At nineteen, when most kids her age are attending college or moving on with life, she is just a senior in high school. With no mother, no father, no faith, and no future, Blue Echohawk is a difficult student, to say the least.

This book was tremendously engaging. Excellent plot development with several twists that were unexpected but plausible and easily accepted. I could not stop listening. Truly. My family complained that I was “gone.” Powerful love, pain, artistic birth, romance, mystery and suspense. I was gobsmacked. (Must listen to understand why I used that turn of phrase.)
And an entirely new appreciation for Mr. Darcy has been born. ❤️
Worth the credit. I did have to adjust to Tavia’s take on a British accent, but once I let myself sink into it, all was good. 5 stars from me.

Robyn's thoughtful character development is always done against a backdrop of a solid, well researched plot. I always get invested in her personable characters with individual strengths and the flaws that make us human. Therese Plummer is such a brilliant actor. Her narration is smooth, powerful. The male characters have absolutely believable pitch.
The romance and chemistry was fantastic. I would've liked to have seen the secondary characters flushed out a bit more.
Carr and Plummer are always worth a credit no matter what.

When I saw Kaleo Griffith had a new narration out, I jumped at it. I assumed if he'd signed on as the narrator, this new-to-me author had to be stellar. Wrong. Very shallow, predictable plot. Boring mediocre characters. I stuck it out, hoping for some plot twist, something more. Nope. Not worth a credit and certainly not worth my time.

Gay characters in romance novels are usually the side kicks or background noise. Every now and again they get a more significant role. But in a mainstream romance series? Never! Until this one. I adore these boys and it's very satisfying to read/listen to their story of getting the happily ever after. Plus, the steamy romance was awesome! A++++

What happens when The Firm meets Anita Blake? You get the Halls of Power - our modern world, but twisted. Law, finance, the military, and politics are under the sway of long-lived vampires, werewolves, and the elven Alfar. Humans make the best of rule by “the Spooks”, and contend among themselves to affiliate with the powers-that-be, in order to avoid becoming their prey. Very loyal humans are rewarded with power over other women and men. Very lucky humans are selected to join the vampires.

Was he an innocent victim - or had his burning kisses only been a smoke screen? One thing was certain: Rob Carpenter was no ordinary man.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

Where is the addicting "page turner" from Brockmann in this book? I could easily put it down.

What do you think your next listen will be?

Another author.

How could the performance have been better?

Wayyy. Narrator was flat. A few voices were just silly, plus her Michigan accent kept popping in and out.

If you could play editor, what scene or scenes would you have cut from No Ordinary Man?

80% of the denials of I can't tell you. Just didn't hold up.
