Leadership expert Sally Helgesen and best-selling leadership coach Marshall Goldsmith have trained thousands of high achievers - men and women - to reach even greater heights. Again and again, they see that women face specific and different road blocks from men as they advance in the workplace. In fact, the very habits that helped women early in their careers can hinder them as they move up. Simply put, what got you here won't get you there...and you might not even realize your blind spots until it's too late.

For years I’ve read books on how to do more of what I’m already doing. This calls out other “bad habits” while showing they are useful in certain situations. It teaches you how to keep certain things in check and explains the reasoning behind the method. It was worth every penny.

This is a great school of thought and intended to get readers and listeners motivated.
There are a few points where he leads people falsely. He indicated a that "you may find a time when you are sleeping and eating less. That's good you are sustaining yourself off of the motivation and work". While passion is key, for long term success (and avoiding health problems) it's a bad suggestion to tell readers to ignore their health to be successful.
On the other hand, pushing beyond your fears and aiming higher than you have been are very smart concepts.
Overall decent read but take it with a grain of salt.

Really love the content. All women should know this. The reading voice has unusual sentence infliction but after getting used to it, it was definitely worth the read.

Lawyers. Accountants. Software Engineers. That what Mom and Dad encouraged us to become. They were wrong. Gone is the age of "left-brain" dominance. The future belongs to a different kind of person with a different kind of mind: designers, inventors, teachers, storytellers - creative and emphatic "right-brain" thinkers whose abilities mark the fault line between who gets ahead and who doesn't.
