While human lives are endlessly variable, our most memorable positive moments are dominated by four elements: elevation, insight, pride, and connection. If we embrace these elements, we can conjure more moments that matter. What if a teacher could design a lesson that he knew his students would remember 20 years later? What if a manager knew how to create an experience that would delight customers? What if you had a better sense of how to create memories that matter for your children?

This was recommended by a coworker - mainly the story of John Deere company giving the First Day experience to an employee and creating a moment that an employee would know how much they are wanted, needed, and that their work is the most important work they will ever do. This one piece has given me a number of ideas of what we can do in our organization to help with onboarding new staff, recruiting, and retention. The narration was excellent. I often listen to hours of audio books while traveling and I was never bored and will listen to it again to hammer in some of the fine points.
