Growing up, my father always told me that I’d come to a bad end, just like my mom did when I was a kid. Hearing that kind of stuff when you’re little eventually gets to a girl, but I can’t say I ever expected my "bad end" to involve an angry vampire with a severe case of iron deficiency and a panty-melting English accent. Maybe I shouldn’t be surprised. Ever since my mother was assassinated, I’ve felt like there was something vast and frightening hidden beneath the fabric of the world - something none of us are supposed to know about.

Zorah's journey of self discovery is just beginning in this fast paced, keep you up reading all night, fantastic first in series. This book grabs you from the start and doesn't let go until long after you have stopped reading. I quickly became invested in Zorah's story. Although this is a paranormal read Zorah is extremely relatable. The narrator is amazing bringing the story to life with perfect pacing and easy to understand yet distinguishable character voices. I am excited to see where Zorah's journey leads next - no matter where it is I know it will be filled with non stop action, laughs and romance.

The greater concern now is whether any enemies of the US might have supernaturals and, if so, how to deal with them. Meanwhile, Missy enjoys day-to-day life back at the academy until learning a mob war puts some of her friends at risk; she once again confronts the local crime boss, only to end up helping him.

I read the first 2 books in this series so it was interesting to listen to the 3rd. I really enjoyed how the narrator brought the characters to life and it fell in synch with how I believed them to sound while reading the first two. I really felt for Chia in this book, it seems that she is fighting a losing battle but she doesn't give up. At its core this is a true good vs evil story that keeps your attention. I am invested in these characters and love the authors writing style. In my opinion there is a perfect romance/mystery/paranormal balance in this series. I look forward to more in the series and from this author

I love reading about Nephilim and this was a new and interesting take on them. The world building was great but I felt that character development and back story were lacking. We are told repetitively that Spike is hesitant to choose a side but never really why except she's a commitment phobe. Overall I did enjoy the story and the narrator was on point in bringing the story and characters to life with fantastic inflection and perfect pacing. Supernaturals are out of the closet but I have to stay hidden because of the type of magic I possess. I’m a Legacy. It sounds like the title should come with reverence, a trust fund, or at the very least a cool backstory—instead it comes with a death sentence. I have to hide in plain sight and pretend to be just human. I’m pretty good at it. I live a simple and somewhat normal life, and I work in antique acquisitions. Everything’s going fine until a dangerous and enchanted dagger that was once in my possession is stolen. I didn’t think things could get any worse until I woke up next to a dead shifter, fae, and mage, without any memory of the past twenty-four hours. Considered guilty of murder by most of the magical community and humans, I must work with Gareth, the sexy and dangerous leader of the Supernatural Guild.

As with the other books in this series Deep Six is action packed with such descriptive world building you can see the action taking place. I really love the originality of the powers in this series - my fave in this book is etched man, I hope there is a book telling his story because I find his abilities fascinating and would live to know how they came about. The narrator does a marvelous job bringing these characters to life with great pacing and inflection. This can be read as a stand alone but I highly recommend reading the others to get the full story. I look forward to more in this series and from this author.
