Annie Besant was a writer, lecturer, prominent Theosophist and women's rights activist of her time. She was a frequent contributor to various Theosophical publications of her day. This is a lecture of hers from 1913, where she speaks about universal consciousness, spiritual unfolding and personal psychic progress.

Horrible narration!

the voice of narrator makes this already terse subject matter undigestable. Annie Besant was referred to me, as I've read metaphysical and spiritual authors. But THIS! The copyright was 2015; the sentence structure was, uhm, 1815? (joking). Seriously, i believe it's the NARRATION that lacks inflection, nuance, and unfortunately, even vocal resonance. This prohibits me from lustening with EASE. #Disappointed

Legions of self-help authors rightly urge personal development as the key to happiness, but they typically fail to focus on its most important objective: hardiness. Though that which doesn't kill us can make us stronger, as Nietzsche tells us, few authors today offer any insight into just how to springboard from adversity to strength. It doesn't just happen automatically, and it takes practice. New scientific research suggests that resilience isn't something with which only a fortunate few of us have been born, but rather something we can all take specific action to develop.
