A fantastic book. Enjoyed every bit of it. From the beginning I just knew it wasn't Sam, the father, and I also knew it wasn't Julie who trashed Noah's place. Knew it had to be the real killer. But I was SHOCKED to learn the real killer's ID. Wow, that was a shocker!! one question, what happened to Julie??

Jo Ellen Hathaway thought she had escaped the house long ago. It was where she spent her loneliest years, after her family was shattered by the sudden, unexplained disappearance of her mother.

But now, the sprawling resort off the coast of Georgia haunts her dreams. Even more haunting are the pictures that someone is sending her - strange close-ups, candid shots, and finally, the most shocking and heartbreaking portrait of all: a photograph of her long-lost mother. . . naked, beautiful, and dead.

Excellent book!! The charters were all believable people and I loved each one of them. I was totally surprised by the ending! All thru the book I had picked out different endings (like who the murder was) and I was completely shocked by the ending. I did peg the romance ending correctly and if it were any different i would have been highly disappointed. LOVED this book and I will be reading it over and over again!!!

Excellence book. The reader, Saskia Maareveld was terrific! It saddened the deepest parts of my heart to visualize the enormous pain the Alice girls went thru once they were caught spying in WW1. To call them brave is a huge understatement. And Charlie's devotion to find her cousin in this war ripped country was true love. But the ending was perfect, perfect in every way!!!

At first it was hard to follow this story, the names were so strange to me. But like meeting someone for the first time, the more I got to know them the more I knew them. This story makes me heart acke for the horrible way the Jews were treated. I found it amazing how they had such a strong will to endure such enormous challenges just to survive another day. I'm thankful she was able to tell her story and I pray to GOD we never allow this treatment to another group of people again! And yet we do.
I love/hated the ending. I wish you could have gone more into their story of finding each other after 2 lifetimes. And yet, that would have been another book.

Absolutely loved it. It gave me the most interesting view about how a group of people, the Germans, could be convinced they had a moral obligation to save their own pure race in order to save their country. I got confused at times going back and forth in history and also in real life and in her story book. So much jumping around. But still LOVED IT!!!!

Not to mention her three intensely loyal Labs. But Fiona got to this point by surviving a nightmare.

The book and story was great! Tanya did an awesome job reading it! However, the last chapter was a let down. Needed more drama. Needed something more unexpected to top it off. Everything was just to simple! We knew she would conquer in the end, but this way simple. I got the feeling that Nora was tired of writing and just wanted this book over. My opinion and feelings.

Found myself rolling my eyes waiting for the end. Finally just skipped the last chapter to get it over! Wanted the bad guy to get caught. Thought Kai should have been shipped over in sex ring and watch how Gill and the others found her just in time. Wanted to see the big bad dog turn to mush with the puppy. But nothing happened. Boring!!!

Loved everything about the book except the ending. It just ended very unclimaxable! Already figured out who killed, pushed, broke in, all except the wife. Now that was a surprised but it too was just thrown in there in the last chapter. Like a "O by the way" comment. It was as if you didn't want the bad guy to be completely bad. He was complaining bad!

One of the best books I've listened to. Susan Erickson is now my favorite reader! She put so much feeling in every word and the extra sound effects, like laughter, moans, disgust; she brought the words she read come to life! But the story line was Nora Roberts' and it was a great story. I love how cool and collected the negotiators have to be during this process of saving lives. Gave me a greater respect for the real live ones in our world of brokenness. I'll listen to this book again.
