Escaping with two servants, Annalise takes employment at Lord Gardiner's town house, disguised as a housekeeper. This has to be the most wonderful stories. Delicious is a great title because that’s exactly what this story is. I almost had to stop listening every once and awhile so I could think about the prose , the plot and the characters.
The actor reading the story added so much to the experience. Well done all.

The plot wasn't very complicated but the writing kept me engaged to the end. I read the second book in the series and enjoyed it tremendously. I almost didn't go back to the first story but I'm so glad I did.
No panting love scenes, no evil villians. Just a old fashioned romance.

This was a great end to this best of historical romance series. For me, the story was perfectly paced. It’s a complicated story with a lot of detours to the happy ending we expect when we read Jo’s books.
I’m easily bored with to many plot contrivances but I never walked away from this book.
I think I’ve read and owned almost every Jo Beverly book and I miss her. When she died, I felt that I lost a friend. I’m reading her books again as a tribute to a wonderful bard. ( I know, they sang but that was what came to my mind)

I bought this book in paperback when it first came out. I knew it was a wonderful story but I didn’t realize how enduring it would be. I bought it in e-book so I would always have it then I bought in audible. The audible is the best form in my opinion. The actor who reads it is great, and the pace is quick enough to be interesting but not hurried.
I just finished listening to it for at least the third time and for me it was as fresh as the first time I read it.
Thank you Loretta for a wonderful gift.
