The Ixa smashed the galaxy to bits before they were defeated. Captain Husher has sounded the alarm in the decades since: the Ixa’s creators will return to finish the job. But unlike Husher, the galactic government didn't battle the Ixa, and the politicians have convinced themselves that maintaining peace means limiting the ability to wage war.

Starting this listen I thought I might not finish this book. Then Scott Bartlett not only hit top gear but kicked in the NOS! Great listen, grabbing book 2 now even though I was saving a credit for another book. I don't think I'll be sorry one bit!

Kazz is a genuine Neanderthal and Philemon is an apish proto-human, two thugs with priceless information to sell to the highest alien bidder. But first they have to get off this backward planet. They hijack Logan's Guard ship, needing it to crack an ancient alien structure at the bottom of the Arctic Ocean, believing it will provide them the ticket out of here. What they don't know is that the structure holds a terrifying alien prisoner that could doom the human race to eternal servitude - and if they did know, they wouldn't care.

This may not be for every Scifi fan, but it works for me. In book one, Christian Rummel threw me for a very short time but I soon found he was the perfect choice for a narrator for this series. He matches Logan in this readers expectation,
No spoilers here, so I'll just say I enjoyed the listen and very glad book 3 is in my queue!
