INDESPENSIBLE GUIDEBOOK FOR GOOD HEALTH!
Where does Detoxification: A Sensible Method for Maintaining Optimum Health rank among all the audiobooks you’ve listened to so far?
Haven't listened to a whole lot of audiobooks so far. I just don't have the time. This one is well worth the time!
What other book might you compare Detoxification: A Sensible Method for Maintaining Optimum Health to and why?
Rethinking Cancer also by Ruth Sackman is an excellent overview of the whole nontoxic approach to treating cancer as well as prevention. (I think it's only currently available in paperback, not yet audiobook.) This book, Detoxification, is a compact and exceedingly practical guide for one very key aspect of healing. So the 2 books go well together.
Which scene was your favorite?
I especially appreciated the chapter that described several ways to detoxify which seem quite doable.
Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?
I had to do it in 2 sittings because of my schedule. It was hard to stop listening!
Any additional comments?
The information presented here really makes deep sense to me: low energy, headaches, difficulty sleeping, psychological distress, digestive troubles.....all the annoyances that “flesh is heir to”....are signs of toxicity. When the body is detoxified, e.g., given a physiological rest and allowed to throw out accumulated junk, the rewards are incalculable: greater well-being, clearer thinking, more productivity, a happier outlook on life.
This audiobook is a pleasant way to learn a variety of ways to approach lowering body toxicity....all of them practical, and manageable for the average person. There's also invaluable information about the kind of approach to diet that will nourish and support the system. I would highly recommend this book for the neophyte, as well as the long time “health nut” like me.
