The Hero was a bully and the story basically disgusted me. The Heroine needed a backbone and not be convinced the man she "fell in love with" within 2 days, proceeded to accuse her of underhanded business practices, then escorted another woman around town and in turns harassed her, manhandling her, told her his life's backstory, then treated her with cold distaste and expecting her to treat him as something to admire and obey, was really something I couldn't stomach. I kept hoping the story would get better, but it never did.

I really didn't connect to any of the characters and in all honesty, the story was simply whiny. It seemed that most of the characters lost a spouse and more or less stopped living. The 'oh woe is me', vibe was too much for me by chapter 5 and I just couldn't listen anymore in hopes that the story would get better.

I totally loved this book, and of course the entire series since the beginning. The action is vivid, the story absorbing, and Renee does an amazing job in the telling of it. I'd do a full review of this book, but you can't start here and expect to get a real feel of this series. Start with book one, Magic Bites, and read/listen to the books in order, and you'll be taken on a wild ride you'll never forget!

Mystic Bayou is a wonderful and quirky town with characters that are also quirky, sweet and with enough spice to keep them more than interesting. I am definitely hoping that Ms. Harper comes out with more books in this world really, really quickly. Jillian is a very smart Anthropologist and with how polite she is and her way with people, it makes her a joy to be around for the people in Mystic Bayou. Bael is heavily armed against anything she can bring, and he's bound, bent and determined to protect his people against the scientist the mayor allowed into their territory, yet she compels him. How Jillian is getting through all those shields he's erected...he will fight his growing feelings toward her. Jillian has heard horror stories of fellow League scientists getting involved with the people they're studying, but there's something about Bael that draws her against all reason. Resisting all that hot, snarky sexiness is getting harder every time she sees him. I've loved pretty much everything that Molly Harper has written, and How to Date Your Dragon is definitely added to that list. The romance between Jillian and Bael is nicely paced and easily believable with enough separating them that they grow into their own characters instead of just becoming a couple. I really did love How to Date Your Dragon, but as usual, I wanted there to be more so I could live there a bit longer.

Would you try another book from G. A. Aiken and/or Morgan Hallett?

G.A. Aiken, yes. Morgan`s performance wasn`t bad exactly, but her pronunciation of many of the names in this book were totally wrong which is pretty amazing since she`s done the rest of this series, with the names pronounced properly, that were released through Audible.

Do you think Feel the Burn needs a follow-up book? Why or why not?

I would like to see more books for this series, but I do hope the next one that holds my attention better. Not sure what was wrong with this one...but I found it easy to leave it to do something else which is odd for anything from G.A. Aiken aka Shelly Laurenston.
