It just keeps getting better. The complex and endearing characters, the adventure, the romance, and imaginative plots create a wonderfully entertaining story. I buy both the Kindle edition and the Audible to get the best overall experience. The narrator truly enhances the story, giving voice to the main character especially. Also I enjoy being able to keep listening to the story of i have to do other things or go out in the car. Traffic and !omg journeys are so much more enjoyable with an excellent book read by an superb narrator. Enjoy!

When I found myself facing down the scariest black-magic felon in the city, practically daring him to abduct me, I had to wonder exactly how I ended up here. It all started when I accidentally landed a job as a bartender - but not at a bar. At a guild, populated by mages, sorcerers, alchemists, witches, and psychics. Good thing this lame-o human is adaptable, right? Then my favorite guild members - three sexy, powerful, and intermittently charming mages - asked for my help.

Don't judge this book by its title, it isn't all dark and evil. As in the 1st. book of the series good fights evil, and there are twist and turns to keep it interesting. As always I was thoroughly entertained, and I am looking forward to more books from this writer.

Broke, almost homeless, and recently fired. Those are my official reasons for answering a wanted ad for a skeevy-looking bartender gig. It went downhill the moment they asked me to do a trial shift instead of an interview - to see if I'd mesh with their "special" clientele. I think that part went great. Their customers were complete dickheads, and I was an asshole right back. That's the definition of fitting in, right? I expected to get thrown out on my ass. Instead, they...offered me the job? It turns out this place isn't a bar. It's a guild.

Lee has created another masterpiece. This often hilarious and poignant triology is imaginative and captivating. The main group of characters are loveable and the villains are hate worthy most of the time. Snarky dialogue combined with adventurous plots made these books fascinating. I love the Audible edition, because I font have to stop the book when busy. This edition would be great to keep your spirits up in traffic jams, and awake on long trips.
**On a side note** Books 1-5 of the car Covenant College days will introduce you to the main characters that meet thru the college. Happy reading and listening.

This entire 3 separate time line series is one of the best paranormal series it has ever been my pleasure to read. I fell in love with Castle's brilliamt, imaginary world of Harmony in her futuristic series years ago. I thoroughly enjoyed her Quinn's hiistorical series, and was delighted with Krantz's contemporary series.
The fact that she combined them into the Arcane Society series just made this series impossibly better. We can follow the families from the 1600s to well into the future.
