Any two characters that I like the best is Joe and Skippy interactions. I love how the author brings comedy to a space opera and how they can make me smile or laugh with the performances of the voice actor. Really felt like a great TV Show or movie. On to the next book in the series..

I grew up with start trek and star wars movies. This one series is fantastic science fiction story line. I have listened to these books more than once on audible. I would not be surprised if there is a movie or few to come out and be just as good as the books.. Start from the beginning of this series and you'd likely be hooked like I am...

The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the Native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon came ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There went the good old days, when humans got killed only by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

The story was a bit slow to start off.. But I must say once you get past the few first chapters it becomes even more interesting. I especially like Skippy and our main character. It is quite nice to hear all the scifi references and their comments back and forth. I was laughing every time they interact with each other. 🤣🤣 Good storyline and characters development. I can't wait to hear the next book.

The plot and story was great the only problem I had was the constant use of "he said" / "She said" / "such and such said". It was as if the author wanted us to be like a spectator instead of being one main character. It however got annoying at the end. I would say keep in mind that it can be an eye opener about what is to come. :) I am hoping the next book is not like this one. :)
