Another awesome book on history. This boom added to my knowledge. I had only been somewhat familiar with Egyptian mythology & vaguely with Roman & Greek. But, with every new book I read is suppose to increase one’s knowledge base. Separate fact from fiction , what may be true all adds to the drama of history. This is another must book to add to your library or e-Library. Congratulations to Matt Clayton on a job well done!

The Ottoman world was nothing like an exotic fairy tale featuring tyrant sultans, mean pashas, and ill-fated harem women. The true stories of genuine sultans and princes are a bit more complicated and no less exciting. Incredible facts about this empire still surprise anyone who starts discovering those stories. You’ll find out that, for quite a while, this Islamic state was effectively ruled by women, and that’s just the beginning.

This is my first biography of George Washington, and it reads very well, with a lot of personal and historical insight. I imagined reading this story out loud to a middle school or High School History class with very good results. This is the kind of material that can really bring history to life without forcing the reader to get dragged into too much scholarly speculation or endless questioning.
