Magic Time audiobook cover art

Intriguing idea

But not executed well at all.

Started out boring and slowly picked up speed toward the ridiculous. Also, the manner in which the characters stories switched back and forth from one to the other in this particular book would probably be better suited for the written word.

I am pretty certain that I would not have enjoyed this book in the written form either, though.

I really liked the Ender's Series, so I was eager to check this book out. Though it was a kind of interesting look back to the good old days of early 80s gaming and programming, overall, the book was just boring.

There were lots of pointless plot meanderings that never really went anywhere. I suppose he also wanted people to understand what it means to be a Mormon, and that was kind of interesting too. Unfortunately, the various Mormons and computer programmers seemed to wander pointlessly in and out of the story at will. It even seemed like Card got bored with his aimless plot and decided to end it with a hastily added plot "shocker" at the end.
