Orphaned at a young age, Hetty is convinced her circumstances make her unworthy of having a family of her own. When a job opportunity as a housekeeper presents itself, Hetty accepts believing that working for Isaac Wheeler and his family is a welcome, if not temporary, surrogate for her own family dreams. As she’s faced with learning to trust, she discovers that wanting a family and building a family are two very different things. Will she learn to see herself as worthy of God’s gifts? Or will she return to the solitary existence that defined so much of her life?

Sweet traditional love story. Very innocent. But I love the narrative by Heather. She breathes such life into a story.

I received this book during the 20 days celebration of Audible. This was a free book they were giving as a thank you. It was a good book and I did enjoy the listen. It would not have been a book that I would have used a credit (not my usual style) but for the type of story it was it was good. I must say in this case I did enjoy the movie more then the book.. The dog made me cry..

Dr. Owen Whelan and his wife Sarah have seven bright and expressive children. However, one of them is very unique; he’s been followed since birth by lost souls. However peculiar Ennis Whelan has been for the first six years of his life, not until the day he found the bird did the degree of his strangeness become so tangible. Ennis claimed it flew away.

I received this book to listen to while on a road trip with my Mom. We both thoroughly enjoyed the book and the miles just passed by quickly. We were disappointed to reach our first destination 8.5 hours in because we wanted to continue to listen. This book keeps you entertained and captivated. Heather Jane Hogan is becoming one of my favorite narrators on audible. I would and have recommended this book to others. I look forward to the next book in this series.

At once wildly original and stuffed with irresistible nostalgia, Ready Player One is a spectacularly genre-busting, ambitious, and charming debut—part quest novel, part love story, and part virtual space opera set in a universe where spell-slinging mages battle giant Japanese robots, entire planets are inspired by Blade Runner, and flying DeLoreans achieve light speed.

When a book is a great listen, I write a review. Someone recommended this book to me and so I got it. 16 hours finished in 2 days.. I had to work and sleep but wow every chance I got the ear plugs were in and I was taken away. Truly enjoyed the voice of Will Wheaton as he weaved the story that Ernest Cline wrote. Spend the credit or the cash.. you will not be disappointed. As for the movie coming out next year I will be seeing it but I know it will not be nearly as good or as detailed as the book and my own imagination.

The Ruhar hit us on Columbus Day. There we were, innocently drifting along the cosmos on our little blue marble, like the Native Americans in 1492. Over the horizon came ships of a technologically advanced, aggressive culture, and BAM! There went the good old days, when humans got killed only by each other. So, Columbus Day. It fits. When the morning sky twinkled again, this time with Kristang starships jumping in to hammer the Ruhar, we thought we were saved.

What did you love best about Columbus Day?

The flow of the story. It developed the characters so well by the end of the book I felt like I knew all of them..

Who was your favorite character and why?

Skippy.. and read/listen to the book and you will know why..

What about R.C. Bray’s performance did you like?

Bray has an amazing voice and you never wondered who he was talking about or as. His voice never got on my nerves. I will look for other books narrated by him.

Was this a book you wanted to listen to all in one sitting?

Yes, I was lucky that I downloaded this book for an 8 hour road trip. We listened to it all the way up, anytime we were in the car during our vacation and all the way back home. I just wanted to drive anywhere so that we could listen to it more..

Any additional comments?

Worth the money. I had to buy the second book in the series while we were on the trip because well I needed to know what happened next and we still had 2 hours to go till we got home so...
