It's been seven years since Daniel Finley left his hometown in Florida for the hustle and bustle of Chicago's city life. Since then, he's worked hard for his position at the prestigious law firm Leighton & Associates, even when it's caused distance and isolation from his family and friends. But that's all about to change.

Its a good concept and a pretty good story, however the narration is not doing it justice. There is not enough distinction between the two characters in the narrators voice to tell the difference between the two men. That makes it very difficult to follow. There are moments when you aren't quite sure who is talking. Also the narrators accent comes out and is very distracting. The book is set in Florida, with at least one character born and raised in the area, however the narrator is obviously from Canada or close to it. It makes it very difficult to get into the story when the narrator says things in ways that someone from the south wouldn't say it.
As far as the story it self goes, I didn't mind the flashbacks, however I agree with some of the other reviews. There could have been a bit more of a lead in so the reader knows for sure that they are hearing the flashback and not current time. Otherwise I enjoyed the story. It is a May/December story, however that is not a major part of it. Overall, not bad, but will be wary of this narrator in the future.

Samantha and Mason are together. Everyone knows it. But not everyone is dealing with it. While Mason is ready to give them all the middle finger, there's one who is not going away: her mother. Threats are issued. Ultimatums are given. Even blackmail is used. But only Samantha can put a stop to Analise. However, when a trauma from her past is triggered, she may not have the courage or strength to do what's needed. And if she doesn't, Mason's future could be destroyed.

Maybe its just me, but this just stretched on and on. Girl needs to grow a back bone. Stand up for herself, to her mother, to the stupid kids, to them all. I like the love story part and I think they are very sweet together. But it doesn't change the fact that this story was too long and too dreary. The first one was about the same but it was a better story. I'm sure the next one will be much of the same.

Rod Nelson is used to being someone's good time, and that's fine with him. Spending his days at his adult toy store, Rods-N-Ends, he never knows who he'll meet. The second Landon Harrison walks in, he has Rod's full attention. It seems as if Landon wants him too, so why won't the man jump in the sack with him already?

Loved the story. super cute. made me smile all the way through. Had a problem with the narration. there wasn't a difference between the two voices, otherwise great listen.
