As with many self-destructive kids, Noah Levine's search for meaning led him first to punk rock, drugs, drinking, and dissatisfaction. But the search didn't end there. Having clearly seen the uselessness of drugs and violence, Noah looked for positive ways to channel his rebellion against what he saw as the lies of society. Fueled by his anger at so much injustice and suffering, Levine now uses that energy and the practice of Buddhism to awaken his natural wisdom and compassion.

I often read inspiring autobiographies by women and felt that it might be really helpful to have the perspective of a male since started working with more adolescent males. This book really gave me some helpful perspective. I also really enjoyed the story and found it very inspiring. It is very helpful to know that there are resources out there for people in recovery. I actually gave a client some information on the recovery community since she is a bit more alternative. A very brave thing to share this personal story with the world. I'm grateful.

I recently went into private practice and this book has been so incredibly helpful in reminding me to believe in abundance and stay the course. It is nice to know that I am not the only one out there with a sticky, to say the least, relationship with money. I'm on my second round of listening to the book and there is just something about it that keeps me motivated and reminds me that I'm not crazy to think I could make this work. I'm grateful to have this book as a resource.
