I am hooked on Court Gentry books. AKA as the Gray Man because nothing this guy does is black or white. He's dangerous to evil and does what he does to rid the world of of the worst of mankind. Needed, fearless and a hero in my book.

For years, rumors of the "Marsh Girl" have haunted Barkley Cove, a quiet town on the North Carolina coast. So in late 1969, when handsome Chase Andrews is found dead, the locals immediately suspect Kya Clark, the so-called Marsh Girl. But Kya is not what they say. Sensitive and intelligent, she has survived for years alone in the marsh that she calls home, finding friends in the gulls and lessons in the sand. Then the time comes when she yearns to be touched and loved. When two young men from town become intrigued by her wild beauty, Kya opens herself to a new life - until the unthinkable happens.

I could not stop listening. The plot was extremely interesting. I loved how the story timeline moved in order to cover Kiah's entire lifetime. The backstory from early childhood was so essential to understand her thinking and idiosyncrasies and how she reared herself without having any parenting, love or trust. She was let down by every authority in her life. This story allowed the listener every human emotion from sadness, loneliness, fear, suffering, laughter.

When his body is found, the police quickly realize he was on his way to deliver one final message, one that proves he has taken another victim, who may still be alive.

It began on New Year's Eve. The sickness came on suddenly, and spread quickly. The fear spread even faster. Within weeks, everything people counted on began to fail them. The electrical grid sputtered; law and government collapsed - and more than half of the world's population was decimated. Where there had been order, there was now chaos. And as the power of science and technology receded, magic rose up in its place. Some of it is good, like the witchcraft worked by Lana Bingham, practicing in the loft apartment she shares with her lover, Max.

This book is filled with controversial issues that tug on your heart & mind. Right & wrong is at times not clear cut. Do you judge by the exact letter of the law or do you look at the "spirit" of the law? Jodie Puccult has a way of truly forcing you to look at important issues from all sides of the characters involved. It made me sad, yet fulfilled at the same time. Excellently worded. Can't wait to read or listen to another book by this author. Narrator could have done a bit better on her voices of each character so it was more clear who was speaking but overall, extremely interesting.
