It's been 10 years since Nicolette Farrell left her rural hometown after her best friend, Corinne, disappeared from Cooley Ridge without a trace. Back again to tie up loose ends and care for her ailing father, Nic is soon plunged into a shocking drama that reawakens Corinne's case and breaks open old wounds long since stitched. The decade-old investigation focused on Nic; her brother, Daniel; her boyfriend, Tyler; and Corinne's boyfriend, Jackson. Since then only Nic has left Cooley Ridge.

A memorable read thats for sure. The premise was nothing new, mysterious death in the past and a main character coming back to their hometown and revisiting the tradegy. It was the way the story was told which made it fresh and fun. I got through maybe half the book when a detail was revealed which made me go back and revisit previous chapters before i could move forward again. You really have to pay attention to the timing of when you learned each new detail which is why I enjoyed it so much. I am considering listening to book again now that I know the ending, it might become a whole different story. Enjoy!

When Julia Conley hears that she has inherited a house outside London from an unknown great-aunt, she assumes it’s a joke. She hasn't been back to England since the car crash that killed her mother when she was six, an event she remembers only in her nightmares. But when she arrives at Herne Hill to sort through the house - with the help of her cousin Natasha and sexy antiques dealer Nicholas - bits of memory start coming back.

Story was interesting if a bit typical with the flashbacks between 2009 and 1840's. Slow start but it eventually got interesting and i was looking forward to seeing how the author tied back the modern day main character to her ancestors but that really didnt happen enough to satisfy me. The pace was slow but steady but then it felt like author hit a wall and just wrapped it up abruptly.
