This is a great Sci-Fi story that moves at an action packed pace and keeps your interest through the whole story. I agree with all the other reviews that reference elements of Bladerunner, Lethal Weapon and Mad Max. This is an exciting story and R. C. Bray does a fabulous job with the voices.

A young couple buys a beautiful house by a picturesque lake in the Catskills, looking to escape the bustle of the city to raise their newborn baby. It is a perfect place for a fresh start. Except that nothing is ever as perfect as it seems. As autumn nights close in around their home, they learn that darkness takes many forms. And sometimes that darkness is hungry. New York Times best-selling author Jonathan Maberry delivers an unsettling Audible Original that will give listeners the Halloween creeps all year round.

If anyone else had narrated this book I'm not sure I would've given it two stars. I love most every book Scott narrates. This story, though, is the same horror story trope that we see and read over and over again. There's really nothing new in the story.

This book has it all - romance, suspense, mystery.... the writing is very good and the characters well developed. There are several story lines, each interesting in its own way and then they weave together beautifully toward the end of the story. A. Faye Hughes does a great job with the voices and story telling. I thoroughly enjoyed listening to this book.

I loved all the different accents and the sound effects. Now I anxiously await the sequel!

Fascinating! Extremely engaging. I could not put this book down and thoughts of Kitty/Katharyn stayed with me for days after.

The story line was very well written and I fell in love with the characters. I enjoyed the details of life in the 60's (like coffee percolators) and the references to the historical events of the times (Cuban Missile Crisis, Patsy Cline's plane crash). She mentions quite a few books I've never heard of and would like to look into.

This is a great look at the "what if's" in our lives.

I really didn't know much about Patti Smith until our book club pick one month was "Just Kids". I had been familiar with some of her music but that was about it. I love her style of writing and was awed by her experiences in New York in the 60's and 70's. She seems like someone I would really enjoy spending time with. When Audible suggested this for free, I jumped at the offer and it deepened my appreciation for her and her work.

This audio is an enjoyable hour and a half with Patti telling stories from her books and singing some of her more popular songs.
