I enjoyed the story and the characters
The only thing I felt needed some improvement was the audiobook recording. This was recorded like a radio play, but there were times that sounds dropped out or were hard to hear. I found myself backing up and re-listening to sections with the volume cranked up so I could catch what was said. This was a minor annoyance in an otherwise excellent production.

Strange Days dives right back into Bill and friends’ world and turns it upside down...again!
The audiobook narration was excellent.

Peter Stone is a poor black vampire who has found undeath isn't all it was promised to be. There's no vast riches, innate cool, or super-sex appeal. No, instead, there's working the graveyard shift at a gas station alongside the highway to Detroit. Oh, and the blood thing sucks, too. Working a second job as the sheriff of the undead, Peter is asked to serve as bodyguard to a famous vampire romance novelist visiting the city. He doesn't go 24 hours before she's dead and he's the primary suspect. There's also evidence it was one of the most powerful vampires in the world.

As I’ve come to expect from C.T. Phipps, this volume has an engaging plot and familiar characters. Infused with snarky banter, puns, and a self-deprecating narcissistic protagonist, we continue the adventures of the Vampire Sheriff of New Detroit. There are some awesome revelations and battle scenes. I eagerly await Book three.
Cary Hite expertly brings these characters to life and narrates the story. Very enjoyable production. I ripped through it within a single day.

Five years ago, the US Space Force became a reality. And while those writing the checks took things very seriously, the other military branches did not. As a result, Space Force was populated by undesirables: men and women who made too many mistakes, didn't follow the rules, or...slept with the wrong general's daughter. Three times. On camera. It was a mistake, okay? My name is Captain Ethan Stone, a decorated member of SEAL Team Six turned Space Force "recruit".

While I’ve listened to other books read by Jeffrey Kafer (and enjoyed them), this was my first experience with Jeremy Robinson.

Space Force was fantastic! It made fun of some real world concepts and played out this scenario in an entertaining and engaging way.

I became invested in the characters, and felt that they were relatable... folks I’d like to hang out with some time! The audiobook performers did a great job bringing them to life.

I found myself thinking of Ernest Cline’s “Armada” and John Scalzi’s “Redshirts”. These are authors that I read everything they publish. Throw in a bit of David Wongs light-hearted storytelling style from “John Dies at the End” to make this a thoroughly enjoyable experience. I will absolutely look for more from Jeremy Robinson.

I was given this free review copy audiobook at my request and have voluntarily left this review.

That being said, this review is completely honest and I will be purchasing works from this author.

The build up throughout the series is fantastic.

I found myself having a tough time with the Audiobook Reader at times. I’m not sure if it’s the accent or something else. While she did a good job differentiating the voices of the characters, I found my mind wandering more than normal and had to back up and re-listen to sections more frequently than I’m accustomed to. Great stories...good production.

Phipps is that rare storyteller who can juggle multiple series with independent themes and characters. He produces engaging, entertaining plots and arcs within each individual book and throughout each series.
With “Tournaments”, he has brought some favorite characters from around the CT Phipps multiverse together for an epic battle. The lines between hero and villain are blurred, new alliances are formed, and there are moments of loss and sorrow amongst the victories and sarcastic quips. This was an excellent addition to my library. I look forward to hi future projects.
Specific to the audiobook: Excellent performance by Jeffrey Kafer, bringing to life the huge cast of characters!

I enjoyed Lucifer’s Star and look forward to the next installment.

The only reason I didn’t give all aspects of this book 5 star ratings is that it needs some polish. Some of the sentences were structurally awkward. There were some times the same thought was repeated with slightly different verbiage, leading me to think it was meant to be cleaned up but was forgotten.

All of that said, I wouldn’t trade the benefits of C.T. Phipps independent publishing to get the polish of a big publisher / editor. Phipps writes an engaging story, builds a world we can immerse ourselves in, and interacts with his readers.

I’m a big fan and recommend every one of his books to my friends.
