For the first time, Hillary Rodham Clinton reveals what she was thinking and feeling during one of the most controversial and unpredictable presidential elections in history. Now free from the constraints of running, Hillary takes you inside the intense personal experience of becoming the first woman nominated for president by a major party in an election marked by rage, sexism, exhilarating highs and infuriating lows, stranger-than-fiction twists, Russian interference, and an opponent who broke all the rules. This is her most personal memoir yet.

Oh my goodness. I finally understand why people feel she's unlikeable! This entire book reeks of disdain for half the country.

I can summarize this book for you: I'm a kind loving amazing person with no flaws and I only lost because of racism, sexism, and Comey.

I had a favorable impression of her even though I'm conservative before but not anymore!

In the early summer of 2014, Farida Khalaf was a typical Yazidi teenager living with her parents and three brothers in her village in the mountains of Northern Iraq. In one horrific day, she lost everything: ISIS invaded her village, destroyed her family, and sold her into sexual slavery. The Girl Who Escaped ISIS is her incredible account of captivity and describes how she defied the odds and escaped a life of torture in order to share her story with the world.

Would you listen to The Secrets of My Life again? Why?

Probably not. I knew most of the information from watching TV shows like the Kardashians, the specials, and "I am Cait."

What was the most interesting aspect of this story? The least interesting?

I appreciate the way she addresses her gender. She acknowledges that Bruce was a real person and she doesn't want to deny Bruce's existence. She just wants to live as Caitlin, her authentic self, now. I found it unappealing and uninteresting when she discussed the Kardashians. I'd heard it all before and it seemed unfair to me to trash the family when she was a crucial part of that family.

How did the narrator detract from the book?

The narrator was a bit monotone. Jenner has a nice voice but I understand why she couldn't read it (dyslexia).

What’s the most interesting tidbit you’ve picked up from this book?

I found information about her pre-Kardashian years to be most interesting.

Any additional comments?

If you watched "I am Cait," you likely won't get too much new info from this book.

Would you be willing to try another book from Shonda Rhimes? Why or why not?

Yes. She is inspirational and funny.

Which character – as performed by Shonda Rhimes – was your favorite?

Herself

Did you have an extreme reaction to this book? Did it make you laugh or cry?

Nope.

Any additional comments?

About 1/4 of the book is a love story to Gray's Anatomy. I watched a few seasons a while back, but I'm not a superfan and I honestly had no idea what she was talking about and couldn't care less. It's still a good book, but I wish I had skipped those chapters.
