The crime is so vicious, so personal and filled with hatred, the authorities are certain it had to be someone he knew.... The number-one suspect is Jamie's former lover Jazzy Talbot. The girl from the wrong side of the tracks has always been Cherokee Point's favorite target for gossip and worse. Jazzy knows she didn't kill Jamie...just as she knows she's being watched, stalked like prey....

I didn’t know if I would like this book when I started listening but I was wonderfully surprised. It was different, going between 2 different times. Somehow it takes you in and wish you had more. As soon as it was done I wanted to find more of the stories. The narrator also did a wonderful job. Thank you for such an enjoyable listen.

Battered and disillusioned, he's built a wall to keep the world at bay. His rule is simple: a man can't lose a friend he's never made. That philosophy works for him - until an arrow rips into his chest and changes everything he thought he knew about his father. His mother. Himself.

There is nothing about this book I didn't like. Narration and story were great. I read and listen a lot. My favorite genre is romantic suspense. Kathleen Brooks puts just the right amount of romance and story for great reads every time. I wish I could get them one after the other. Unfortunately, it doesn't work that way. I'll just have to try and wait patiently for the next one. Only problem I had was that audible version wasn't released at the same time as the digital and written.

Miller Darling is one of the most popular romance novelists of her time. Not bad for a woman who doesn't believe in romance. She's as logical as they come, and she doesn't believe in happily ever afters. What she does believe in is family, so when her brother disappears, she doesn't think twice about packing her bag and her laptop and heading out to find him.

The Bodine ranch and resort in western Montana is a family business, an idyllic spot for vacationers. A little over thirty thousand acres and home to four generations, it's kept running by Bodine Longbow with the help of a large staff, including new hire Callen Skinner. There was another member of the family once: Bodine's aunt, Alice, who ran off before Bodine was born. She never returned, and the Longbows don't talk about her much. The younger ones, who never met her, quietly presume she's dead.
