This was a well written book with interesting characters. There does seem to be a heavy influence from A Court of Thorns and Roses. I do wish there was slightly more focus on the mystery and less on random dates the two main characters go on. While I'm not a fan of the "I have pretty wings now and I think I'm a hideous monster but my boyfriend thinks I'm stunning" trope, I do look forward to where this series is heading.

This was such a weird take on the beauty and the beast story, but it worked. I wasn't sure if it would come together in the end and have an ending that fit the two main characters, who were not the best of people but still made me care about them.
The ending needless to say, delivered beyond my expectations and worked perfectly.

I adored this book. The humor was everything I loved. The scifi element was blended with the traditional Arthurian tale. What could be better than a LGBTQ lady king Arthur in space? Nothing. I recommend this book to anyone and I look forward to the next installment.

The first two books of this series were amazing. And this one started out great. But then the scifi and dystopian elements were replaced by new things. New things that were never hinted at or foreshadowed. How are you going to have a world built on science then randomly introduce alternate realities, dragons, and make human characters suddenly into gods. Several characters dies and come back to life to the point where it felt like the author wrote herself into a corner and the only way she could get out of it was by breaking all the world rules she set and writing nonsense.
This author can craft amazing worlds and characters but she has a difficult time creating a series with an ending that makes sense.

Roselle's life grows even more chaotic as she is claimed by one powerhouse to another. She still have an overly soft personality that i was hoping to see become a little harder. She loses a few people she loves and gains a few new allies. Agent Crow is even more insane. And that ending...

An intriguing start to a new scifi dystopian series. I love the world system and the potential problems it will create. I also enjoy that the main character has been training for most of her life and isn't "magically" an expert fighter. Though her personality seems a bit unnaturally soft for how she was raised - Though I'm not sure how much of that might be the softness of the narrator.

Finale was everything I needed it to be. A perfect ending to the series. I'm glad Scarlet had a bigger part in this book this time.
The narrator brought the characters and world to life.

This is such an amazing start to the series! I've never read about reapers quite this way. New, refreshing, and completely unique. The author really gave each character room to grow and even the villains are more than just typical "evil." The character development was really well done. The audio producer really brought the characters to life.

This is my first book by this author and I will be binge reading the rest of the series. The writing is fantastic, as are the characters. I didn't realize it at first but this is an Arthurian retelling, but it's done in such a subtle and unique way.

Another unique take on reapers. I enjoyed the counsel and the way civilization handled creating scythes, and the reason behind it. I did enjoy the point of view of Citra a little more than Rowan. He was a bit flat, but I look forward to watching him grow in the next book.
