Cataclysmic solar storms have forced leaders from around the world to finally put aside their differences and agree on one thing-to jump ship. The human race is headed to Mars. Dr. Sophie Winston is hired by New Tech Corporation to test a biosphere deep within the heart of Cheyenne Mountain; a mission she believes will help prepare the company for the three-year flight to the red planet. I'm not entirely sure why I waited so long to listen to the ORBS series, I love Hell Divers. This is fantastic end of the world action and adventure. I love it when authors create female characters that are tough & smart leaders. Bronson Pinchot is amazing as the narrator, I may have to find other books he's read because his voices & narration are so good. If you love end of the world fiction, start reading. You won't be disappointing.

Tornadoes, cyclones, tsunamis… Weather can be deadly – especially when it strikes without warning. Millions of Americans could soon find themselves at the mercy of violent weather if the public data behind lifesaving storm alerts gets privatized for personal gain. In his first Audible Original feature, New York Times best-selling author and journalist Michael Lewis delivers hard-hitting research on not-so-random weather data – and how Washington plans to release it.

I thought that this was a pretty good book, but not great and not really complete. I wish it could have been fleshed out a bit because I think for the complexity of the subject that 2.5 hrs isn't enough time to even get to the root of 'Privatizing weather is bad because....' problem. Although I find the current administration to be horrible, blaming the GOP leaders for All Evil is not really helpful. The other thing that was a bit strange is that the first 1/3 (maybe?) of the book was a biography of Kathy Sullivan. I found her so interesting I wish the rest of the book would have been about The Women of NASA (or something like this) I even listened to this part of the book twice, however, this really had little to do with the rest of the book. I think it needed to pick a subject and go with it.

This is a very exciting book, lots of action and adventure. I like the interluding chapters showing what was happening with Xavier. Can wait till number 4 is out in audible. This was well narrated by RC Bray. I really enjoyed it. Probably not a book that you can hop right into book 3 with, start at the beginning.

This is another really action packed installment of The Tide Series. Don't look for a literary masterpiece with lots of hidden meaning or depth. This is a book about action & surviving from Point A to Point B. I love the narrator in this book, he has a lovely voice to listen to. My only complaint is that it really seems impossible that The Hunters could possible survive any more than what they've gone through already. I look forward to the next book in the series.

An 11-year-old boy's violated corpse is found in a town park. Eyewitnesses and fingerprints point unmistakably to one of Flint City's most popular citizens. He is Terry Maitland, Little League coach, English teacher, husband, and father of two girls. Detective Ralph Anderson, whose son Maitland once coached, orders a quick and very public arrest. Maitland has an alibi, but Anderson and the district attorney soon add DNA evidence to go with the fingerprints and witnesses. Their case seems ironclad.

I thought this was a good story. However I thought it got a bit repetitive in spots because parts of the same story were retold again and again. I'd love to see more of a story with the female 'private-eye' she was a favorite character. I thought the last 2/3'rs of the book were better than the beginning of the book. Not the best SK book out there, but it's a good listen & I liked it.

I got this book as a whim before Halloween as a recommendation as underappreciated horror novels. I have to say I didn't really expect to enjoy this book so much. What a great horror story. I do think the story is a little dated & sexist (it was set in 1970) but that can be forgiven. All in all it was a fun horror story. The narrator did an excellent job with the voices.

The kids get themselves in a dangerous situation & the horror is how they handle it. I like the narrator, nice calm reading voice. It's been a pleasure to listen to him read.

Overall this is a classic coming of age story with monsters, the human and inhuman kind. I found that the narrator was a bit distracting with his dramatization of the voices. It was very well done, but it distracted from the story for me a little bit. I found myself just wishing the guy would stop screaming out the story line & just read them. I also found myself cringing at the derogatory language used. That being said, I loved the story & the characters and the horror of it all.

This is the way the world ends: with a nanosecond of computer error in a Defense Department laboratory and a million casual contacts that form the links in a chain letter of death.
