The villains in this series are so menacing, they keep me listening, hoping for their demise! Love all the characters but the strong women and hateful villains are the best
An amazing performance by John Lee brings old England to life.

Kept my interest right up to the end...

Lots of plot twists kept me from putting this one down. BUT... then it just stopped. I didn’t feel like the story was finished-disappointing.

Should be required reading for mothers!

Now I love her even more! Sally Field was/is the sweet perky little woman I’ve always admired and enjoyed watching on TV and in movies BUT I would never have imagined so much more was going on inside that little person! I didn’t want to put her book down and not just because it is Sally. The story of her life so far is intriguing; her writing ability kept me right there with her with every word, and, of course, her performance was perfection! I just hope she writes a Part 2 after her next 20 years or so...

Enjoyable listen with a genuine surprise ending

Kept my interest throughout...I liked the story and the narrator. My only criticism is that I'd like to know more about several of the characters (Runner, Diane, Crystal) including what happened to them.

Starts a bit slow but picks up quickly!

Love the way this story demonstrates how folks with hearing impairment communicate. This is just woven in throughout a really good storyline.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

I enjoyed the book so yes, I think reading it was time well-spent.

What was your reaction to the ending? (No spoilers please!)

That's the thing...it was predictable. Child's books usually surprise me right to the end. I figured this one out, though, way before I really wanted to.

Any additional comments?

Overall, this is a good read. Just don't expect quite the Wow factor of other books by Childs like Terminal Freeze or Deep Storm or Utopia.

Not the uplifting book I'd expected

What disappointed you about The Florabama Ladies' Auxiliary & Sewing Circle?

The book just doesn't take off like I'd expected. After listening to many of the Elm Creek Quilting Books, I was expecting something similar. This is an entirely different type of book and just not what I wanted to listen to.

What was most disappointing about Lois Battle’s story?

It wasn't really based on the characters' shared love of quilting as I'd expected.

What did you like about the performance? What did you dislike?

The reader was fine.

You didn’t love this book... but did it have any redeeming qualities?

I enjoyed the character, Ruth, and her challenge to become a teacher.

Any additional comments?

I don't think this is a bad book....just not a really good one.
