I definitely struggled to finish this. It is a pretty basic set up, nothing original. That is pretty much what I wanted, something frivolous to listen to while doing monotonous tasks.

This just fell flat for me. Maybe because the characters in the story are too young? The problems they have with their "relationship" are definitely due to immaturity.

Once again, poor communication leads to a few hours of pointless dialogue.

Her:Let me explain!
Him: No
Her: but..
Him: Don't care (insert 5 minutes of internal dialogue)

Or

Him: Why are doing this?
Her: (has genuine reason but...) I... can't explain it, I'm sorry
Him: liar!
Her: I am not (insert 5 minutes of internal dialogue)

oh and of course this "Insatiable need" for the other that makes it IMPOSSIBLE not to have sex with each other... come one authors, you can do better than this.

the females voice was incredibly annoying and whiny. half od eack book was basically one tellng the other that they could handle everything, then something happens and they realize that they need each other

these books would have been 4 chapters each if they just spoke to each other.

so basically, first two chapters.... they meet
chapter 3-28 - what is wrong... nothing.... are you sure.. yeah I'm fine.
last two chapters before end- peril ensues
final chapter- i can't live wothout you... bla bla bla

I am writing this review after listening to the book a second time. Let me start first by saying that even though I did not like this book, I still really enjoy the series, I just think the author could have went about this story without making David a villian. A lot of alternatives could have been taken. I know David gets his own book, which I enjoyed much more than this one, but this book falls short. like the author chose the easiest way to separate David and Janie.

But... that is not my biggest issue. My biggest issue is that Janie is a selfish, spineless, child of a heroine. If you really pay attention, she always talks about how things are going to affect her. She doesn't want Mac mad at Joe because it would hurt her, she wants maddies mom to reconcile with her family because it hurts her, etc. etc. it sounds like she is trying to be this great person, but it always comes back to what her feelings are.

Added to the fact that Mrs. McCarthy is a horrible person! i said it, she didn't like Maddie because of gossip, treated her like crap for years, was atrocious to her in the first book until "the truth was revealed " instead of trusting her to be telling the truth... but that is a different review.

Anyway, back to this book. I just do not understand why Joe was so stuck on her, so stuck on her in fact that he could never fall in love with someone else. I just do not see her appeal.

All that said, I have enjoyed the rest of the series, if i could do it over again, I would skip this book and go to the next.

I tried, I really did. i made it to chapter 4, to give it a fair chance. The premise a 40 year old woman getting back into the dating pool a few years after a divorce due to a cheating husband.

I am.not sure how old this author is, but she mad e this woman sound like a teenager. This woman is 40 and she is obsession about the most immature things. There is also a lot of random thoughts, she loses track of conversations if a handsome man is talking to her. Oh my god is a favorite saying. Does this sound like a 40 year old? nope, if i had to guess, maybe 25.

If you are going to qrite a story with a mature heroine, let's make sure she is an intelligent, got her life together, kind of galand not a 25 year old.

What was that?

I definitely struggled to finish this. It was all over the place, way too much back and forth. Not really sure why though, like the author could not decide what to have the characters do on between the sex scenes.

The narrators were fine, nothing spectacular.

Wow, I may be too old for this book. I found the issues very frustrating. Please grow up a little bit. Both characters are immature and ridiculous. I guess if you are younger, maybe between 18-25 you could find enjoyment in this story. It just wasn't for me.

For the love of Webster's Dictionary, find another word for tremulous... thesauruses are out there. Using the words shaky, wobbly, unsure,... anything else.

The last 3 chapters you can just skip through, basically it is a very obvious secret she is keeping, for no reason.

"oh no, i am a billionaire, in love with a billionaire, how will we ever get through this (so called) issue"

I am not going to lie and say i got this book expecting some brand new, never been read before, story. However, this one was hard to get through for me. i liked the premise in the beginning, thought it was rather clever, but it got redundant very quickly.

i will keep.on with the series though because they are in the ramance package i supscribe to. Also, i really enjoy the narrator's voice. if the next one is this hard to get through, i will probably move on.
