This lady..... My God........So I have listened to this book about 3 or 4 times I think? The last time was about maybe 2 years ago. This book is so f#%*!&@$ GOOD that I had completely forgotten who did it. I choked on a grape at the end when it was revealed!!!!😆. I had to hurry up and hit pause and rewind it. This was NOT my first time listening to this book. Amazing!!! I usually will go back and listen or read previous book in series before I read the new one. You will love this book. Bring it on Lethal White!!!

I had been in an Audible slump, returning books and recycling credits left and right. But this book, it was an unexpectedly wonderful listen. The story itself is well written but the narrator was awesome. I like it when you can tell whose speaking because the reader has given everyone a different voice. She conveyed emotion, she didn’t sound like an automaton. Take it from a person who will return a book if they are not hooked in the first 5 minutes and who would listen to Davina Porter read the phone book; people are sleeping on this book, it was a nice surprise.

Fifty years after her death, Hollywood icon Marilyn Monroe still beguiles the world, her image enthralling millions. Many books have attempted to explain her allure and tell her story, but none has succeeded as well as this work by acclaimed biographer Donald Spoto. Spoto’s exhaustive research uncovers a conspiracy of silence, allowing him to present the facts, free from often-repeated myths and speculation. Granted access to more than thirty-five thousand pages of formerly sealed files containing letters, diaries, appointment books, and other intimate papers, he also interviewed nearly two hundred people who had never before spoken on record.

Great Story!! Well developed characters. But the narrator needs to be able to better perform or convey different voices and not the much difference in pitch between men and women. Even with that this was a good listen, despite that. Just bought the next one I series. Didn't even wait for more credits.

I don't believe in fairy tales and Prince Charming. I believe in fear. He taught me how to be afraid. We first met on a playground on a wonderful summer day. It was the first time he hurt me and it wouldn't be the last. For 10 years, he's been my tormentor and I've been his forbidden. But then he went away, and yet I was still afraid. Now, he's back, and wants more than just my tears. You see...he thinks I sent him away so now he wants revenge...and he knows just how to get it.

I tried, really did. But I don't find it attractive or find it healthy to lust after or develop feelings over a long period of time for a juvenile delinquent that's repeatedly telling you " I'm going to kill you." And the narrator needs to learn how to say voluptuous. Couldn't finish it.

This joint biography of Bette Davis and Joan Crawford follows Hollywood's most epic rivalry throughout their careers. They only worked together once, in the classic spine-chiller What Ever Happened to Baby Jane, and their violent hatred of each other as rival sisters was no act. In real life they fought over as many men as they did film roles.

I read this when it first came out. At that time I was reading everything that John Grisham released. This is one of the best books he has written. I just listened to Camino Row and was missing the fast pace from his old books. Glad I took the chance and bought this. Now Just wishing he would release unabridged versions of The Client and The Pelican Brief. I haven't even finished it yet. That's how good GOOD this is.
