It was a typical evening at a mall outside Portland, Maine. Three teenage friends waited for the movie to start. A boy flirted with the girl selling sunglasses. Then the shooters arrived. The chaos and carnage lasted only eight minutes before the killers were taken down. But one person wasn't satisfied with the shockingly high death toll at the DownEast Mall. And as the survivors slowly heal, find shelter, and rebuild, they will discover that another conspirator is lying in wait - and this time, there might be nowhere safe to hide.

I really only read Nora Roberts one off books as they are very entertaining and not as formulaic as her series books. I really did enjoy this story, however she would have some seemingly important plot points come up but then rush over a resolution or not address it at all. But overall enjoyable.

My one complaint about this book is that orphanages do not exist is the USA. If you are writing a book you should probably do a little fact checking. Many Orphanages in the USA were closed in the 50s as the foster care system started replacing them and then closed in the 60s when the federal government starting backing the foster care system.
