I have loved this entire series of books. This one had a different narrator and I did not care for it at all. I almost didn't finish it, but then stuck it out.

Would you say that listening to this book was time well-spent? Why or why not?

Definitely not. It would be a better read than listen. The child's baby talk and voice were so annoying, I almost quit reading it Not sure why the narrator though it was necessary. The accent on the other voices were not that good either

Did the plot keep you on the edge of your seat? How?

The plot didn't keep me on the edge, I just wanted to get through it

How could the performance have been better?

NO ACCENTS!

Did The Liar inspire you to do anything?

Make sure I listen to a sample book before downloading. This was a wasted credit as I did not enjoy listening.

Amanda and her husband, David, feel fortunate to be raising their son and daughter in the close-knit community of ex-pats on Grand Cayman Island, an idyllic place for children to grow up. Their firstborn, Sally, has always listened to her heart, deciding at age four that she would rather be called Clover and then, a few years later, falling in love with her best friend, James. But the comforting embrace of island life can become claustrophobic for adults, especially when they are faced with difficult situations.

What could Alexander McCall Smith have done to make this a more enjoyable book for you?

I have read many novels by this author and have enjoyed them. I don't think anything good help this book.

What character would you cut from The Forever Girl?

All of them and start with brand new characters

With indifferent parents, Iona Sheehan grew up craving devotion and acceptance. From her maternal grandmother, she learned where to find both: a land of lush forests, dazzling lakes, and centuries-old legends. Ireland. County Mayo, to be exact. Where her ancestors’ blood and magic have flowed through generations - and where her destiny awaits.

What could have made this a 4 or 5-star listening experience for you?

New story, new narrator

Has Dark Witch turned you off from other books in this genre?

Yes, I will not purchase any more books in this series. I will also do more homework on purchasing any new Nora Roberts books.

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

DISAPPOINTMENT in author

Any additional comments?

This is not a normal Nora Roberts book. I really tried to like it and only went on because it was Nora Roberts. The narrator with her high voices was very irritating, I had to keep turning the volume down. I will be returning this. I would have given it no stars, if that would have been an option.

What do you think your next listen will be?

unknown

Would you be willing to try another one of Todd Haberkorn’s performances?

No

What reaction did this book spark in you? Anger, sadness, disappointment?

Just a waste of time listening to it

Any additional comments?

I have always loved Lisa Jackson's books and think this is her worst book ever. The kids are very annoying, especially when the narrator changes his voice for the kids. The things they say are not normal for 4 year old kids. I could not continue the book and after reading the reviews and finding there is no ending, its in another book, I was certainly glad I stopped. I should have read the reviews better before purchasing.
