At 24 years of age, U.S. Army Ranger Sean Parnell was named commander of a forty-man elite infantry platoon - a unit that came to be known as the Outlaws - and was tasked with rooting out Pakistan-based insurgents from a mountain valley along Afghanistan's eastern frontier. Parnell and his men assumed they would be facing a ragtag bunch of civilians, but in May 2006 what started out as a routine patrol through the lower mountains of the Hindu Kush became a brutal ambush.

The book and the story are great.
The only reason I gave Ray Porter a 4 is that I have listened to several novels that he narrated that hearing his voice gave it a "fiction" feel to me. Not that he did anything wrong. That was just my hangup.

In 2009 Clinton Romesha of Red Platoon and the rest of the Black Knight Troop were preparing to shut down Command Outpost Keating, the most remote and inaccessible in a string of bases built by the US military in Nuristan and Kunar in the hope of preventing Taliban insurgents from moving freely back and forth between Afghanistan and Pakistan. Three years after Keating's construction, the army was finally ready to concede what the men on the ground had known immediately: It was simply too isolated and too dangerous to defend.

On the morning of June 14, 2017, at a practice field for the annual Congressional Baseball Game, a man opened fire on the Republican team, wounding five, including Louisiana Congressman Steve Scalise nearly fatally. In heart-pounding fashion, Scalise's minute-by-minute account tells not just his own harrowing story of barely surviving this horrific attack but the stories of heroes who emerged in the seconds after the shooting began; in the minutes, hours, and days after he suffered a devastating gunshot wound, in order to save his life and the lives of his friends.

This book has every element of great literature, comedy, tragedy, great characters, epic events, gripping personal emotions and great writing. And it is all true.

Rep. Steve Scalise has gifted the listener with his personal struggles and triumphant return to the House and the Game. In doing so he pays tribute to all of the people who helped save his life by telling a portion of their story and how each of these parts came together to give his story a happy ending.

From the concerned citizen who walked to the fire station when 911 was jammed, to the Congressman who just happened to be a combat surgeon, his Secret Service detail who saved unknown lives that day, even the nurse who would not let him have a drink of water (for his own good of course) are introduced not only for their part in his story but given due for their own stories.

The trauma surgeon who was most instrumental in saving his life and his wife are rightly given top billing as the dynamic duo whom he could not have survived without.

The audiobook is read by the author which lends the reading a sense of gratitude and awe that reading it alone could not possibly convey.

I cannot recommend this book highly enough. It is definitely a Must Read.

Thank you Rep. Scalise for telling your story and giving such a wonderful gift to the reader/listener.

Or will his opponents in the media, protester class, and political establishment block his efforts and choke off the movement he represents?

Billionaire at the Barricades was not exactly what I expected. I thought it would be all about the Trump rise to power. Instead it is about the rise of Populism starting with Barry Goldwater and Ronald Reagan and flowing from the 70's through 2017.

The information is well laid out and interesting.

It is interesting to hear the book narrated by the author Laura Ingraham, but I wish she would have just read quotes in her own voice instead of trying to emulate who she was quoting. Her Hillary was spot on but the Bill was a bit over done.

Overall a great book well worth the listen.

Fox News legal analyst Gregg Jarrett reveals the real story behind Hillary Clinton’s deep state collaborators in government and exposes their nefarious actions during and after the 2016 election. This audiobook reveals how persons within the FBI and Barack Obama’s Justice Department worked improperly to help elect Hillary Clinton and defeat Donald Trump in the 2016 presidential election. When this suspected effort failed, those same people appear to have pursued a contrived investigation of President Trump in an attempt to undo the election results and remove him as president.

I wish Gregg Jarrett had read this book himself, the information is all very well laid out and easy to follow but the reading is missing his passion. I have seen and heard Gregg talk about all of the subjects in this book many times on TV and radio and he is very passionate about them. That passion does not translate into the reading of this book by Charles Constant.

The legal analysis in the book is very well laid out for the average non-lawyer to understand and follow.

Gregg brings up some points I have not heard anyone else address and does so in a clear and concise manner.

Gregg lays out all the facts in a methodical and thorough way that supports the premise of the book, that those involved with both the Hillary e-mail case and the Trump-Russia case were, and continue to be driven by political motives rather than requirements of the law.

Kings of the Wyld is among the best fantasy novels that I have read.

Jeff Harding is a fantastic narrator, making the listening even more enjoyable.

Overall one of the best audio books I have listened to.

The only caution, the author uses curse words including the F word occasionally so if that is an issue for you be warned. But don't miss this book just because of that. The story is well worth the occasional F-bomb.

Behind most major political stories in the modern era, there is an agenda - an effort by opposition researchers, spin doctors, and outside interests to destroy an idea or a person. The tactic they use is the Smear. Every day, Americans are influenced by the Smear without knowing it. Paid forces cleverly shape virtually every image you cross. Maybe you read that Donald Trump is a racist misogynist or saw someone on the news mocking the Bernie Sanders campaign. The trick of the Smear is that it is often based on some shred of truth.

The First 15 Lives of Harry August is an interesting twist on the time travel genre. It is probably more correctly a parallel universes book rather than true time travel as each loop covers the exact same years of Harry's life. Only the events change.

It is a well written and entertaining book and Peter Kenny does and excellent job on the narration, giving each character a unique voice.

Overall a very entertaining book, I would recommend to any time travel, parallel universe, sci fi fiction fan.
