Enjoyable story, but sound effects makes is very difficult to hear the narrator. Leading to back tracking and straining to make out what is happening as engine sounds and lazer fire overwhelmed the speakers voice.

while the very last chapter had some Interesting parts the vast majority was praising it self or telling info a third grader already knows. The narrator was amazing though and did a fantastic job.

Leland Gaunt opens a new shop in Castle Rock called Needful Things. Anyone who enters his store finds the object of his or her lifelong dreams and desires: a prized baseball card, a healing amulet. In addition to a token payment, Gaunt requests that each person perform a little "deed", usually a seemingly innocent prank played on someone else from town. These practical jokes cascade out of control, and soon the entire town is doing battle with itself. Only Sheriff Alan Pangborn suspects that Gaunt is behind the population's increasingly violent behavior.

The music can be a bit distracting at times, but never makes it hard to understand what is being said. Other then that slight complaint Needful Things is a fantastic read with Stephen King doing a surprisingly good job as the narrator.

I can't say enough about how good this book is and how good the narrator performed for this title. A joy to listen to from beginning to end. If you are new to audibles or are just not sure what book to start next I suggest picking this one up. IT is a thrill ride that doesn't disappoint. Warning: Skill of Steven Weber narration may cause other narrators to sound like screaming goats to one's ears.
