I really had no idea what I was getting into with this book. Hearing it was an anthology of stories, I was piqued.

What I heard were stories that made me laugh and, in deference to my manly pride, put a few frogs in my throat.

Give it a listen and hopefully, there will be another book like this.

In the meantime, I'm gonna go tell my momma I love her.

The narrator actually makes this story fly, with his vocal variety for different characters. Not to mention, Karpyshn displays a great understanding of his source with very descriptive, vibrant settings.

Give it a read by all means!

Love the Karpyshyn books and this book is no exception. Great use of lore from the main series. The voice acting is clear, expressive, and pleasant when needed. This is a great sci-fi book for your collection.

SuperFreakonomics challenges the way we think all over again, exploring the hidden side of everything with such questions as: How is a street prostitute like a department-store Santa? What do hurricanes, heart attacks, and highway deaths have in common? Can eating kangaroo save the planet? Levitt and Dubner mix smart thinking and great storytelling like no one else.

After listening to this story, it feels like John Scalzi must be a big fan of Star Trek, as this story feels like an episode of New Generation. Great story full of intellectual appeal as well as a high degree of fantasy.

Narration, while good sounding and dynamic, reads a little too closely to the text, getting a lot of mileage of he said/she said in narration. An interesting problem with Scalzi's audio books.

To begin, World War Z is one of the best zombie fiction books written in the 21st century. It is a tale of horror, hope, and holding fast in the wake of a global catastrophe.

To compare the two, the book brings the global imagery of a world torn apart by the living dead; the audiobook, however, delivers the emotion and feeling inherent to these stories in a way that WILL affect you in some way.
The cast is top-notch, with one of my favorite chapters featuring Alan Alda's voice over, and it fills me with passion every time!

I'm not a book reviewer so I'm not sure how to continue, but I couldn't recommend this book more if you like zombies, tales of survival, stories of fighting back against the encroaching darkness, and just generally awesome, hopeful stories set in a grim, tragic world. Please, give it a listen soon!
