It has been 20 years since the end of the war. The dictatorial Augurs, once thought of almost as gods, were overthrown and wiped out during the conflict, their much-feared powers mysteriously failing them. Those who had ruled under them, men and women with a lesser ability known as the Gift, avoided the Augurs' fate only by submitting themselves to the rebellion's Four Tenets.

Not only is the story amazing, but Michael Kramer did an extraordinary performance. I loved the Wheel of Time series, which I found this book to be very similar. Also similar to some of Brandon Sanderson's work as well. And I'm serious, I'm excitedly anticipating the second book. Great piece, James.

I loved this story. This is my second time through reading it. The narrator is not my favorite though. Many of the characters sound nearly identical and sometimes it's hard to keep track of who is talking unless specified. But the story is awesome and I would recommend!
