about two rational adults with real relationship issues and doubts.
There wasn’t big explosive angsty problems, no jealous former lovers or intrusive family members.
This was a refreshing read with some hot sex and characters from the first few books making appearances.
As before, the narrator was good with the female roles; each woman having a distinctive sound but she needs to work on her male voices. When the story describes the H with a deep voice I expect to hear that. Unfortunately that wasn’t the case.
Liked the story though.

Her and Him should have been one book using the title of “Us”, perhaps.
This entire book except for the last 3-4 chapters was a repeat of Her, just told by Will. I didn’t really learn anything new, no wrap up to how a hurtful text message got sent to Sarah that supposedly was from Will’s phone or who actually sent it. Except for getting to listen to Christian Fox, this audio was a waste of time.

The 8th book in the “In the Shadows” series that started with “Mister Black”.
The series follows all the sibs, half sibs of the Blake family throughout the 8 books. Blood Rose wraps up the relationship of Cass and Calder with the culmination of their wedding.
Also in the mix is Cass’s doppelgänger, Celeste who all but several people, thinks is dead, including her sister.
There is the conclusion of a few sub stories and a hint that perhaps Mina’s story is coming.

First - the narrator.
Ms. Rivers has a pleasant female voice and is very good when it comes to the male roles. There is a definite lower, almost smokey sound to Will. I enjoyed listening to her many voices.
Now to the story itself.
I was on the verge of wanting to find the gas pedal to this book; it moved soooo slowwww. To the point it became boring real quick, to much repeat of each scenario.
There was also the fact that too many of the secondary characters were under developed such as Sawyer, Will’s ex girlfriend, the 2 guys in Denver. etc.
The reader never found out much about their background, just basic superficial stuff.
Then there is Vanessa, the rich high school girl that shows Sarah a text sent from Will’s phone saying he was going to break up with Sarah and get back together with her.
A text from his phone, that was never discussed again. Who go ahold of his phone?, who sent the text?
Add seven years and Sarah just happened to see Vanessa working the service desk at a store while shopping for her brother’s wedding gift. Really?
Sarah was the typical immature 18 year old, runs away from problems, doesn’t address issues, relationships, etc. It was hard to believe she ran a company that aided companies with financial assistance in filling out paper work, setting up benefit plans, that she definitely would need very good communication skills, but dodged Will at every turn to discuss “the why”. Mature much???
This had potential, but unfortunately I felt like there was 50 miles to travel but only enough gas in the car to make it half way.

Overall I would give this audible book
3 1/2 stars.
This is the first book of this series that tells the story of a scientist/doctor, Olivia and Lauren, the prince of the elves.
The narrator lacked the modulation to effectively pull off the male roles.
When the author describes a prince as having a deep male voice the listener doesn’t want to hear a light female British accent. That scene took place early on in the book and pretty much turned me off from that point on. I stuck with listening just so I could find out how it ended.
This book would have been better by just reading it.

Overall score: 3 1/2 stars.
This is book 2 in this series; the story of the demon king, Thorne and Sable, a human (or is she?)
Looking at this from a narrator’s perspective, Charlotte Wright’s voice is okay for the female parts but is lacking when it comes to reading ANY of the male roles.
I think I would have enjoyed this book more if I had just read it.

This is the complete series (4 books) of the Explicitly Yours series, telling the story of Beau Oliver and Lola (Melody) Winters.
There is only one narrator for the entire series; only one was needed. Christian Fox is the complete package when it comes to telling a story with both male and female voices. He reads just the right amount of joy, anger, fear, anxiety, despair, hurt, sex and passion into all the roles. There were times I was sure there had to be another reader in the booth with him when the recording was made. He is just that good and I hope the romance writers community use him more and more.
The story follows Lola and Johnny who have been in a committed relationship for over 5 years. They worked at a once trendy bar; Johnny ran the bar or the absent owner and Lola was a server. All their friends were married, some had children. Johnny didn't take their relationship any further because they were living paycheck to paycheck, despite Lola saying she didn't want or need a big wedding. Johnny wanted to give her more.
Enter Beau one evening, making an unusual offer to give them $500,000, enough to buy the bar. There was just one caveat.
I thought of the Robert Redford movie, Indecent Proposal and the offer of money for "one night" with Lola. While the story starts there it quickly diverges and blooms into a rich story of loss, loneliness, right and wrong decisions, mistakes of the young, work addiction, revenge, regret, and love. Beau and Lola ignite the pages with passion, obsession and need.
This is my first book by this author and I look forward to reading more of her books.

This is the end. The final trilogy of Willow Winter’s Merciless series. This is Jace and Bethany’s story.
We all have been waiting for Jace’s story and what a beginning.
All I’ll say, so as not to give away the plot, is a sharp knife, ethanol, fire retardant blanket and ice. What a scene that was especially with Sebastian York as Jace
