With the end of the Civil War, the nation recommenced its expansion onto traditional Indian tribal lands, setting off a wide-ranging conflict that would last more than three decades. In an exploration of the wars and negotiations that destroyed tribal ways of life even as they made possible the emergence of the modern United States, Peter Cozzens gives us both sides in comprehensive and singularly intimate detail.

Was there a moment in the book that particularly moved you?

A simple practical book, scripture-based, really helped me to get my mind around how much I really am truly brainwashed by media telling me I need to consume, when I realized after reading this book that it's really not what I want .... what I really want is what she shares in this book, which is to be declutter, simplify life surrounded with family and love and peace and contentment and freedom .... STOP shopping, STOP collecting.... start living.

Any additional comments?

A great read for anyone that lives in western civilization ... we can all relate!

Would have given 5 star if it were not for the narrator, Narrator is awful, gives 30 yr old people old man voices. Gives women in their 29's old lady voices. Absolutely horrible narration. Is often shrill.

Too bad, the book would have been good as the series is great. I recommend that it be re-recorded with the Left Behind narrator.
