Nick Malick suffers every parent's nightmare. I couldn't help but root for his chance at retribution. Amazing dialogue keeps the read fast-paced as Nick maneuvers his way through a crime-ridden town afflicted by a turf war between drug lords from Detroit and a small-town police force. Great debut novel! Looking forward to more from Jonathan Fredrick!

The scene is the Caribbean, 1718: Englishwoman Mary Read is forced to disguise herself as sailor Martin Read; then things get more complicated when she falls in love with another sailor, Peter Meredith, a brilliant man but rather clueless about the sea... who also has no idea that his best friend is a woman. To make matters worse, they're both captured by pirates. To make matters worse yet, one of the pirates is Anne Bonny, Southern belle turned scourge of the Caribbean.

I already knew this book was an amazing prep for on-camera work because I had read an earlier edition. David H. Lawrence xvii narrates this edition to full effect which kept me engaged and entertained. The pace and inflection of the narration was perfect for absorbing the information. I never thought I would enjoy listening to someone narrate a glossary of terms until now! The book comes with a downloadable set of PDF's helpful for visualizing certain camera shots described in the book. A great read for actors at every stage of their career!

Would you listen to The Second World War again? Why?

Yes. Historically engaging and filled with hard truth.

Who was your favorite character and why?

Churchill. He stood alone and strong in a political tide set against him. He laid out the facts without recriminations against those who were opposed to him and remained true to his crown and country.

What about Christian Rodska’s performance did you like?

LOVED Christian's narration! His vocal quality had just the right rasp for Churchill.

If you were to make a film of this book, what would the tag line be?

One man pulls the world from the brink of disaster.

Any additional comments?

A necessary history for anyone interested in current politics.
